KEY DATES REMAINING IN THE PRESIDENTIAL CONTEST:

September 11 — Obama, McCain discuss their views on service and civic engagement at a primetime forum in New York City.

September 26 — First presidential debate at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi

October 2 — Vice presidential debate at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri

October 7 — Second Presidential debate at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee

October 15 — Third Presidential debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York

October 16 — Al Smith dinner

November 4 — Election Day
