The "Press" should be absolutely furious.......
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/05/mccain-campaign-plans-to-keep-palin-away-from-the-press/

SCARBOROUGH: Yesterday Nicole Wallace suggested that she was sitting right there and told Jay Carney of Time magazine ‘Sarah Palin doesn’t have to talk to you, she doesn’t’ have to talk to the press.’ … Can we expect Sarah Palin on Meet the Press and other one on one interviews throughout the course of this campaign?

DAVIS: We’re going to do whatever we think is the best to win. We have 60 days left and if we think it’s a good idea to go out there and do those shows, we’ll do them.

SCARBOROUGH: Can you avoid it? Meet the Press?

DAVIS: We can afford anything we want to do. … We’re going to do what we think is in our best interest. If that means access to the press, we’ll give it to you.

They would NEVER let democrats get away with this shit. If they are doing this now, what does it mean for a mcsame/caribou barbie administration?

1. Yay! The potential of another presidency with transparency!
We cannot let this happen, people.

P.S.
I hadn't heard it before, but I love the nickname "Caribou Barbie".

2. You bet their best interests are served by asking her no questions.
When America gets a load of Ms. Fundie Wingnut's views, heads will explode all across the country. Her appeal is all smoke and mirrors.

Reality will puncture a hole in that mess right quick and in a hurry.

The Media Heathers won't put up with being shut out. They'll go from fawning adoration to bitchy in about 5-seconds flat.

9. Yeah- remember how they took on Bush for giving the the fewest pressers in history?

And remember how they just tore into Cheney for being undisclosed all the time?

Dont get the press mad- or they might elect you twice!

But seriously- here is what DEMS should do:

11. Bush-Cheney weren't elected even once fair and square, but I digress.
Ms. Fundie Wingnut's views are so extreme, I really think she will be vetted one way or the other by the MSM for ratings; it being a service to the American people is merely coincidental.

14. Can you find one person in the press you are counting on to back you up on that?
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 01:22 PM by Dr Fate
I think you see my point- our reality and the reality the media is willing to present are always different- whether it's stolen lections or Pailin's inability to answer tough questions.

I hope you are right- but I've seen the media pass up controversies & potential ratings bonanzas to protect Bush plenty of times... (Gannon/Guckert comes to mind)

17. lots of posts in GD-P about it - the awakening so to speak
Under any other circumstance, I would agree with your assessment. But Palin is virtually unknown and the MSM is starting to come around to the notion that it is ludicrous to think she can proceed without scrutiny.

The wingnuts made a HUGE mistake thinking they can perpetrate a media feud and shut-out as a means to an end. Her record will be exposed one way or the other, and I guarantee the MSM wants to be on the front lines of that exposure if only for ratings.

That's my opinion; yours may vary. ;)

I hope you are right.

19. Well, you're right on that count.
It absolutely blows my mind that very little has been done since 2000 on the subject of election fraud.

:scared:

BTW, Rachel Maddow starts her own show Monday following Countdown. That's a two-hour block of prime time progressive vetting.

:applause:

3. I've been saying the same thing -- they should be outraged and we should
be hearing about it a LOT.

6. The press should ignore it and 'press' on.
If Palin won't do interview, oh well. The media shouldn't be outraged because that's exactly what they want. They want to be able to demonize the media.

7. The media ARE outraged, but they won't show it
Which is good. They'll just work harder on honestly calling the Republicans on their shit.

Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 12:55 PM by Dr Fate
The GOP/media should give the GOP/media a good dressing down over this!

10. I think the plan is for McCain to step down shortly after he's sworn in.
That way McCain hands the presidency to a woman which perserves him in history.

At that point, Palin who never had to give her views to the public on anything now is position to put her radical beliefs into effect without even once having to run on her own merits.

I've never been one for tin-foil, but that's the only reason I can see them going to such extremes to flat out say "fuck you" to everyone.

And remember how they attacked him for faking the torture story, then blaming Newsweek?

Remember how they took him on after he scorned Dan Rather?

Er- I dont either.

16. That would make a great 527 ad,
there has to be some group out there willing to make an ad showing this.

Then when the only interviews she gives are to Fox and the other Right Wing Media, another little ad truely exposing to anyone who hasn't learned yet that Fox is nothing more than the GOP mouthpiece, then we have a nice little 2fer.

Let them have their rope.
