Judge, in court, on Palin: "bitterness ... has overridden good judgment"
The comment in the subject is taken from the following Aug 31 article, where the judge was commenting on the behavior of Palin and other family members.
Longstanding family feud in Alaska embroils Palin
By James V. Grimaldi and Kimberly Kindy
    Washington Post / August 31, 2008

    ...

At trial on Oct. 27, 2005, the judge expressed puzzlement about why the family was trying to get Wooten fired, since depriving the trooper of a job would harm his ability to pay family support to Palin's sister.

"It appears for the world that Ms. McCann and her family have decided to take off for the guy's livelihood - that the bitterness of whatever who did what to whom has overridden good judgment," Suddock said in an audio recording from the trial heard on TV station KTUU's website.

3. Scorched Earth Policy - Just like Bush - in a Dress
Nevermind the Dad won't be able to pay child support - the idea is to destroy him totally. Punish, punish, punish.

They act like gradeschoolers going at each other.

Sadly, these kind of antics are common in family court. I've seen it too many times.

4. I hate to say it, but
you could say this about 90 percent of family court cases -- at least as regards one side, sometimes both sides. I used to work there. I know.

5. Sure. But for Palin this is just one data point in a chain of evidence ...
... of pettiness, vindictiveness and retribution.

6. I'm not disagreeing -- just pointing out that it's more common than people realize
The "amicable divorce" is largely a myth. And, if there are children or money involved, you can forget about it. Some people carry it off, but those cases are the exception to the rule.

11. Right, I understand. But Palin's involvement is not typcal....
... as the sister of the wife and as governor of a state, nor was her behavior viewed as typical by the judge ruling over the case, based on his statement during court.

My sister went through a divorce this last winter, but I'm not stalking her ex-husband, letting the air out of his tires, trying to hack his computer network, or trying to talk to people I know within his company in an effort to get him fired.

9. Agreed. No one needs a bitter vindictive in such a position of power.
