Tonight, What is the McCain Campaign Up To? Well, they made a bee-line for Michigan... |
|
The day after the convention, Gramps and Caribou Barbie made their way to Michigan.
Why Michigan?
Could it be a swing state come November?
Why else would they be here.
Where in Michigan?
Sterling Heights, Michigan at Freedom Hill County Park (Macomb County - the same county touted as the Bell Weather county of Reagan Democrats in the 1980's)
Why Sterling Heights? A suburb of Detroit.
Oh, and Detroit's Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick finally resigned today.
You put 2 and 2 together and tell me what their strategy is.
Sickening.

3. This is the shit going on at the street level... |
|
I sure hope we have our shit together.
It was ugly at work today.
Most were laughing about Kwame and heading out from work early for the Gramps rally.
We need to have our shit together.

8. I don't think she'll carry Michigan, though. |
|
Everyone I've talked to so far is horrified by her. I'll see what the gossip is at church on Sunday, but so far, I have yet to hear anyone thinking she's anything good, and I wouldn't call Battle Creek the most liberal town in the state.

Arrived late last night and had a quickie stump speech in Cedarburg, WI (1/2 north of Milwaukee).
I didn't watch local coverage, but saw them on Countdown... their "talk" just repeated excerpts of their 'acceptance' words.
I guess we're a swing state, I just hate to think that - years ago, WI had been the most socialistic among all the states of the union - I am sad that is moving away! BUT WE WILL NOT TURN RED

7. The scandal is over, It will be a distant memory by Nov. But I did hear a new Obama radio ad |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 08:27 PM by Motown_Johnny
today. It has a woman talking about McCain and abortion, and had sound clips of McCain talking about how he supports a constitutional amendment to ban all abortions.
If McCain thinks he is going to ride Michigan to the white house then you can pick out your suit for the Obama inauguration

9. McCain has been here three times in about 3 weeks |
|
He's also been advertising here a lot....much more than Obama has been. But Obama has been leading in most polls so it doesn't seem like McCain's efforts have done much. McCain is betting a lot of winning Michigan but I don't think he'll win it.
