Biden Gets Angry at GOP: Gives ‘Em Hell For Ignoring Middle Class
http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/09/05/biden-gets-angry-blasts-gop-for-ignoring-middle-class/

LANGHORNE, PA — Joe Biden was the Obama campaign’s most forceful attack dog on the stump in the Philadelphia area today, turning in strong hits on the Republican ticket for twisting the knife into Democrats at their convention, but failing to mention so much as a single idea to help the American middle class.

Riling himself up along with the crowd of 2000 at a gymnasium in Langhorne, PA, Biden railed against the convention speakers. “It’s not so much I heard in the Republican convention, when I heard John speak last night, or not so much what I heard when I heard what the governor had to say, the Vice Presidential candidate. It’s what I didn’t hear. The silence. The silence of the Republican party was deafening,” he shouted, deafening in his own right. “It was deafening on jobs, on health care, on environment, on all the things that matter, on the neighborhoods I grew up in. Deafening.”

<snip>

“What do you talk about when you have nothing to say? What do you talk about when you cannot explain the last 8 years of failure?” he asked, answering “you talk about the other guy.”

Biden, who is urged to take on Palin forcefully in their upcoming debate at nearly every campaign stop, told the crowd at a union hall in Northeast Philadephia that he’ll follow the model of Harry Truman. “When they yelled at Harry Truman “give em hell, Harry,” he yelled back I’m not gonna give ‘em hell, I’m going to tell them the truth and they’re going to think it’s hell,” Biden said.

1. That explains why there was no footage of his speech
in primetime.. (except where Rachel was subbing for Keith).

It was powerful stuff.

4. That's why I knew he was the right guy for the job.
in 2000...I was ok with Al even with his ambivalence for Clinton

in 2004...I always liked Kerry, but Dean had my heart before and after the overplayed scream without the connecting sounds.

I was not thrilled by either of their running mates. Lieberman because he just felt like an untrustworthy dude (it was just something about him). Edwards because he just felt a little too cookie cutter perfect.

I read Elizabeth's story of the 2004 campaign early last fall. I loved her sense of who she was but I felt like she and Hillary let the guy do too much of the talking. It was obvious to me (although I am no soothsayer) that they were the brains behind the big likeable lug in front.

Joe Biden felt like the right guy all along because he is as close to a regular guy who has been in the Senate for 30 years, knows what he is talking about and believes what he is saying. I thought Obama would be crazy not to find someone who can help him govern. LBJ was a great pick for Kennedy because he knew how to get legislation through both houses of Congress. Biden did vote for this war, but he at least is realistic about what the outcome will be now that we are here.

5. If the media won't do it, then we need to distribute it.
Any good copies to e-mail around?
