believe what they are told instead of looking up sources to see how true the rumors are.

She only has local and state experience, and not much at that. Obama has local, state, national, and international experience.

14. haven't seen polling to suggest this
Sure the base 40% wingnut voters will give that opinion. Same as black is white, up is down, grass is red, and the earth is flat.

15. Point out that Obama manages over 2,500 people on his campaign
And that's way more than the 50 people who reported to Palin as mayor of Alaska. Say that his campaign is the only one this year that never went bankrupt, and that it's largely because of his leadership and drama-free management style that his campaign defied the odds and achieved a come-from-behind victory in the primaries despite starting out against an opponent with a lot of establishment advantages.

Also, there was a great article in Newsweek or Time a few months ago about Obama's management style...I will see if I can find it.

Good for you for going door to door, btw. Keep us posted on how it goes. I wish I could do that, but I have to work every weekend now. But I'm working for an organization that is supporting Obama, so I guess being at work helps Obama more than going door to door.

16. I know it makes me cringe to even have to explain!
But you start by asking the person exactly what they heard so you know what part of it to take down.

18. On Palin's Experience
1) It would be nice if someone could get together a truncated clip of Stewart's Daily Show Karl Rove segment. It makes the experience case better than we ever could. WAY better -- and I don't just mean because it is coming right out of his own mouth.

2) I wouldn't hammer on a set in belief. I would shift to "Does she really represent your views" on choice, on the involvement of religion in government, on teaching only abstinence in schools, on censorship . . . .

3) Another approach would be to ask, "Are you comfortable yet that you know everything you need to know about her? Obama has been out on the campaign trail and fully available to media for almost 2 years now. Have you seen Palin give and interview or do anything other than give her 1 speech?"

Palin is not the issue in this campaign. For that matter neither are Obama and McCain. The ISSUES are the issues.

19. Point out to them what she has done with her experience.
Ask them if by experience do they mean her time in the PTA or her experience as a hockey mom and if that is truly enough to be the VP or potential President?

My hats off to those who are able to undo the damage, even though it can only be done one voter at a time.

22. See my mother went to a doctor's appointment a couple months ago
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 03:21 PM by nc4bo
she brought home a print out someone did on their home computer. It highlighted the differences between Obama and Mccain (pre palin).

I asked her where did she find it, she said it was in between Better Homes and Gardens or some other typical doctor's office magazine.

I didn't have the nerve to tell her she should have left it there for others to read, I was just happy she took an opportunity to read it while waiting for her name to be called.

It was a great idea and a great noninvasive way to get Obamas message across especially to senior citizens, mothers with kids, etc.

IF we can come up with some short, concise lists - preferably one pagers - we can leave these in places we know people have to wait a while and pick up "something" to read while they wait.

Sorry to be snarky - I get so frustrated with the populace sometimes.

25. An effective way could be
to simply tell them what Obama has done since high school, then immediately tell them what Palin has done. Obama's accomplishments speak for themselves - if they can't see the difference after that, they don't want to see the difference and you're wasting your time with them.
