Carrie Budoff-Brown reports from Obama's town hall in Terrre Haute, Indiana that he's taking his first hard shot at Palin:

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Barack Obama took his first direct swipe at Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on Saturday, criticizing her for supporting congressional earmarks before opposing them.

“I know the governor of Alaska has been, you know, saying she is change,” Obama said at a town hall meeting here. “And that is great. She is a skillful politician. But when you been taking all these earmarks when it is convenient and then suddenly you are the champion anti-earmark person.

“That is not change, come on,” Obama continued. “I mean, words mean something. You can’t just make stuff up. You can’t just make stuff up. We have a choice to make and the choice is clear.”

1. Good. My only unsolicited advice to Obama would be to cite specifics in

no uncertain terms. Otherwise it's too easy to blow off as political rhetoric.

3. I'm glad Barack is calling her out afterall, after implying he wouldn't ...

.. I think the reason he changed his mind is that initially he KNEW that Palin wouldn't
last 5 minutes of scrutiny from the Press, and he was kinda leaving it to the press to
take her down. But then Palin pulls her "disappearing" stunt, won't even talk to the press
at all.

So now Barack is chiding her, goading her to open her mouth publicly. Damn smart in my
book.
