5. well, FTR I don't think they should be forced into getting married. but because palin is making
such a big deal about them doing the 'honorable' (yea, right) thing, I just wondered. I really doubt it's gonna happen and honestly for their sake, I hope it doesn't.

it is a personal issue - and should not be a matter of the campaign.

28. The hypocrisy is fair game ....
Sarah Palin is the target .... her children are a reflection of her parentage ...

While it would be improper to 'target' the children, it is absolutely proper to take note of their current status as a marker to explain whether Sarah should be trusted according to what she says versus what she does, and what she did ...

So ... simply mentioning Bristol is NOT a violation of the rule to 'keep the kids out of it' ... in fact, it is critical to mention them in order to point out her glaring hypocris .... Noting their marriage status is NOT 'attacking them' .....

Your's is a rational argument, and that is fine for rational people .... But WE need to attack the GOP ticket, and people relate DIRECTLY to these ideas .... The 'apple doesn't fall far from the tree', is the saying, even if it isn't technically true ....

I say hurl as MUCH mud as possible ..... not less ....

Your claim is nonsense: The Republicans have used EVERY ugly trick in the book, and have won 6 of the last 8 elections ....

I will NOT follow Obama's lead in this case: He is a presidential candidate, and MUST stay above the fray : I am a citizen who is tired of losing ..... I am not beholden to act like a presidential candidate ...

No more pussy assed campaigns .... Go for the fucking jugular .... You feel that is juvenile ? ... fine ....

You still have this problem of making the claim that mean-assed, ugly campaigns filled with personal attacks loses elections, even though it can be shown that the party that always uses them has won most of the last 8 elections ..... We call that a false argument; an incongruity ...

But the repukes wouldn't hesitate for a minute if it were the other way round. We are all naturally gun shy about the way the swiftboaters were rewarded, and cynical about the voters.

Because whenever we talk about black people in the inner city that is exactly the point that Repukes make. What's sauce for the goose should be sauce for the gander. At the very least someone should point out such glaring hypocrisy.

25. I hate to be so cynical...
...but I can't help wondering if the White House (note: NOT Palin or anyone directly connected to her) might order him to be put on the front lines in the most dangerous part of the country until the election. I mean, wouldn't it be a great tear-jerker to have the Republican vice-presidential candidate dominate the pre-election headlines as a grieving-but-still-proud "Gold Star Mother?" How many millions of votes would that gain them?

48. I don't think that that's true:
http://www.army.mil/usapa/epubs/pdf/r601_210.pdf

From page 50 of that PDF file:

"b. Applicant who, as a condition for any civil conviction or adverse disposition or any other reason through a civil
or criminal court, is ordered or subjected to a sentence that implies or imposes enlistment into the Armed Forces of the
United States is not eligible for enlistment unless—
(1) The condition is removed by the same or higher authority imposing the sentence.
(2) The condition is removed by virtue of expired period of sentence.
(3) The condition is over 12 months from imposition and the court, city, county, or State no longer obligates the
applicant to this condition."

15. why are they getting married? It is very likely that a divorce will follow a few years down the road
There is so much growing up to be done between 17 and 21. How many of us can truly say that we would be happy and still married to our high school sweetheart if we had gotten pregnant at 17 and had a shotgun wedding? Don't get me wrong - it can work, but just usually doesn't.

Is getting married too young as punishment for getting pregnant really a "family value"?

I was raised to believe marriage was something not to be entered into lightly, or for the wrong reasons.
