1. It's "Fewer" People, Not Less
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 09:14 PM by Demeter
"Fewer" is used when you can count individual items. "Less" is used for things that don't come in discrete units, like Water, Time, Fat, for which you use units of measurement: gallons, minutes, calories....

Improper usage of Less for Fewer just grates like nails on the chalkboard.

End rant.

And if one called them "Lesser People", one would be an elitist.

2. The High School I taught at in Denver was about the same size.
Maybe a 1000 less than her town when she got elected.

4. But, but, but,
she is the governor of the largest state in the union, even if it has 200,000 LESS people living there than does the population of the state of Delaware, the next to smallest state in the nation.
If my main man and US Senator JOE BIDEN decides not to run for President after he serves his next 8 years as Vice President (AND HE WILL BE OUR NEXT VEEP) maybe he could run for Alaska's Governor
(LOL/Sarcasm)

8. If the GOP wasn't trying to sell her as one of the greatest Governors in America
with more impressive experience than McCain, Obama, and Biden put together, I think people wouldn't be reacting the way they are, finding her candidacy outrageous and incredible. If they hadn't tried to come up with BS statements proclaiming that her foreign policy experience is due to the proximity of Alaska to Russia, or that her executive experience is derived from her oversite of the Alaskan National Guard, people would not be laughing so hard at this VP pick. The Republicans seemingly can never back off, never admit any weakness. They can't just glory in the fact that Palin is the second woman ever to be nominated, but they have to try to con us into believing that she's one of the greatest reformers who ever lived. I think if they had trotted out someone like Palin and simply said that she was a competent mayor and governor and that she would be on a steep learning curve in her duties as VP, things might have gone better for them.

But then of course, she has lots of additional baggage including her horrendous views on the environment, on social issues, and her lack of foreign policy experience. I'm just talking about how badly the GOP has handled the issue of her lack of experience.
