It is insulting to ALL voters to keep Palin in scripted only situations. |
|
For heaven's sake, exactly how long will they keep their hot house flower in a protected environment? If she can't meet the press and meet the people (the people who AREN'T able to get into the Republican corral to moo along with the herd) than she CAN'T BE VICE PRESIDENT!
INSULTING to think Americans are going to put up with a pick being shoved down their throats that they are not allowed to vet for themselves based on her performance away from a TelePrompTer.
Let me say it again - INSULTING!

1. So they don't care, this comes as a surprise? |
|
I agree completely with you, but I have learned that I can't waste my energy on making them do the right thing.
I can only focus on Obama being the right thing, and that means no more begging to contrasts repubs mass commnicating, it means making sure the people we have are ready to go, and ultimately person to person.
You know why they don't care, because they aren't the people, we are the people and all we have to do is show the people that he and Joe are the people.
One person at a time. The grasshopper and the ant, the Repubs are still the grasshopper.

2. I don't want to make them do the right thing either - |
|
I want the American people to be *aware* that they are doing the wrong thing. (Neither one is particularly easy..... ;) )

though it's even more insulting to watch people publically pander and praise her and McCain, when you know that they're privately thinking... otherwise.
I mean, enough's enough.

5. Really, this alone ought to kill her chances, and Gramps' for |
|
picking someone like this.
The right wing media's reporters will even be tempted to comment on it. After all, she's taking their fun away.

6. The "base" doesn't want to know any more about her |

The right-wing dead-enders have constructed a fantasy about Palin. They have built an intellectual house of cards. They don't want facts, because facts threaten their fantasy. They prefer to remain ignorant.
That Samantha Bee piece from the RNC should be shown hourly, because it shows how stupid and inconsistent the GOP beliefs are. Any person who could say "Being in favor of choice is not the same as pro-choice" shouldn't be allowed out in public without adult supervision.

7. They will do it as long as they can get away with it. 58 more days to go. |

Fox News has done a glowing documentary about Palin which they are airing ad nauseum as she remains unaccessible to reporters' questions.
It's clear she is not ready to give an interview let alone lead the country, but as long as people are enamored by her story and the media sits by and does nothing of substance, the GOP will get away with it.
Rove did the same thing with Bush; he took a lousy, inexperienced candidate and turned him into a good ol' boy from Texas everyone would want to have a beer with. The package was sold and it was successful. The focus is always on wedge issues to get people emotionally attached to the candidate and that's how they vote.
Unless the media and the electorate start hitting Palin hard on her public office record and radical religious views, not much can be done. Even when questions are asked, they're met with cries of sexism from the McCain campaign.
The GOP's strategy is the same on usual; depending on voters' ignorance to win.
