12. Upside: Gibson will feel he needs to use this chance to show his "unbiased" skills...

After the sandblasting he got for his picayune interrogation of Obama in the Primaries, Gibson won't dare to take it easy on Palin. He's going to have to throw her some tough questions to preserve his image of himself as a no-nonsense interviewer.

He knows his reputation took a hit after the ABC primary debate debacle and he knows that will be small potatoes compared to the uproar to come if he doesn't deliver the same sort of scandal-mongering questions to Palin.

Between his politics and his ego, I'd count on Gibson's ego to win by a landslide.

I think the McCain camp slipped up by not catching that dynamic. There are a lot of other interviewers. I think Chuckles will give her at least a moderate raking.
