Interesting To See How Rove's Strategy Of Fear Is Working Here
What I see is DUers doing his work for him. We'll self defeat ourselves. Am I on DU or a CON forum? So Obama had a terrible convention...really? Cause the one I saw was pretty great...Biden was terrific this morning...lots of people are organizing and working to get this done. Joe Klein said on Tweety's show this morn that McBush is running an Orwellian campaign. You remember him right? The guy who wrote about living in a fear based state and how those in charge controlled them by fear. Have we become a party of cringers? Or do we fight back to save ourselves and our country? Fear produces nothing but schoolyard bullies until we stand up and take them on.

2. I agree. The only way McCain can win
is if he depresses Obama's base. We need a huge turnout, and that can't happen if everyone's convinced that we're going to lose.

5. Well Said
I still contend she's the banana peel beneath NcBush's feet. It's a classic 'those the Gods would destroy' scenario. It's now up to us to make sure it happens before the election.

4. These are the same Chicken Littles who were worried about the columns for Obama's speech.
They were wringing their hands over it and demanding that the Obama camp tear them down and build something different. All because of some asshole republicans making fun of the unfinished stage.

Every damn week, there's always something that comes up that have the Chicken Littles crying and moaning about how terrible the campaign is being run.

FUCK 'EM.

9. How far does Obama have to fall behind before
his reflexive cheerleaders concede that his media strategy is failing?

6. The only thing that matters are the votes.
Obama had a great convention and then his campaign went to sleep. We need to put pressure on them to wake up.

Sunday morning show speeches ain't gonna change a damn thing.

We haven't become a party of cringers, we just don't want another 2004.

8. Fear works. Anger works. Divisiveness works.
We can't beat Republican-style tactics in the general election. We have to treat the American voters for the easily manipulated sheep they are.

and saying we can't beat Con tactics makes me wonder what your point/purpose in posting that little nugget was.

16. Well See Now, That's My Point
If you think the matter is debatable then it seems to me that you are intimating that McBush is running the better campaign. So let me just say your concern is evident.

17. It's pretty damn obvious McCain is running a better campaign.
He's an inferior candidate running on an inferior platform with Bush hanging around his neck, and he's still winning.

19. I believe the Dark Side is stronger than the Light Side.
I admit it.

I think people who think you can't win without cynicism and deception are smoking crack.

down the drain. I have been here since S C U B A dude for those who remember and I cannot recall a time when I dreaded coming here as I do now. Someone needs to get the Palin stuff off the main threads and into a separate folder. Right now we need more moderation so we can stop the distractions and get to work getting Obama elected. I have walked the precincts and I have made phone calls and plan to do more. ENOUGH! GET SOME MODERATION GOING.

18. I just don't subscribe to the idea
That it is in any way meaningful to stick your head in the sand and not analyze the crap the other side is throwing at you.

Group think is not for me.

20. I haven't seen anyone say we had anything but a GREAT dem convention.
And I'm not seeing Rove's "strategy of fear" working, either. What I see at DU is lots of people trying to think through all the issues and figure out how to deal with them. I don't see fear... just determination.
