hard-hitting questions when Scott McClellen was the press secretary.
Of course, none of that matters since he's somehow an asshole conservative.
:sarcasm:
Lay off of Gregory. He's more objective than most.

but it was all for show. Gregory's reports were very pro-Bush. Bush even sexually humiliated Gregory in front of the rest of the reporters and the viewing public. Gregory sat there and took it. Nobody ever complained.

but he is NOT unbias. He is very very bias. His bias makes Gregory look like Edward Murrow. I am pissed they made this change to, but I see no way anyone can look at Maher and say "Well that man isn't liberal... in fact he's entirely unbaised."
That makes no sense, and Maher would be the FIRST to admit it.

This is truly disgusting!!!
So, they're getting rid of everyone who doesn't toe the neocon line? Olbermann and Matthews won't cover up for those bastards, so they're purging the anchor chairs of anyone who might ask Sarah Palin a question that doesn't have to do with hockey, the PTA or oil reserves in Alaska.
These sick bastards.
My guess is that all media is currently kow towing to John McCain--pleading with him, "What can we do to get in your good graces?? Please don't hate us! Tell us what to do and how we can get you and Sarah to start speaking to us! Don't hate us. Give us marching orders and we will take them!"
It's been widely publicized that McCain is being an ass to the media and refusing all interviews.
I guess we're seeing that MSNBC is willing to do anything to cater to John McCain.
John McCain's little drama-queen episode worked. He needed the media scrubbed, before it was safe to bring out "I only know a few lines" Palin.
What a crock. Completely disgusting.

34. Guess they want to promote C-SPAN viewership. That's kind of them. |
|
I'd be happy to continue viewing such events on the Span, as we affectionately call it.
It's only if MSNBC has Keith and Rachel and Eugene that I think about checking in there instead of my dear CSpan.
It is only those three that can pull me in to the MSNBC world. Perhaps a few others. There are some more regular commentators I like.
Chris Matthews, when he wasn't bending over backward to prop up bankrupt Republican talking points, was quite interesting. But on his daily beat he tries too hard to make Republican crap sound sensible. Wish we had his wit just honestly assessing these miserable eight years we've had. Sigh...
But David Gregory will just drive me away with his deadpan style. Too dry. And sometimes also delivers those RNC talking points with too much of a straight face even when the premise of those points is clearly contradicted by known fact.
I'll be fine with my dear CSpan. And am glad that MSNBC will push more viewers toward that wonderful resource. Book TV has gotten me through some sad times.

It may be that Olbermann didn't like being tethered to the host position because he's supposed to be neutral.
Olbermann just helped Maddow get her show.
He's still got plenty of swing there.

HAVE YOU GONE TO THE RIGHT WINGERS????? This is BULLSHIT!!! I just heard that you have dropped Matthews and Olbermann from the debates anchor chairs!!! David GREGORY?? The RIGHT WING SYMPATHIZER!!!!!! It's pretty OBVIOUS who you want to win this election!!!!! This is OUTRAGEOUS!! David Gregory doesn't even try to HIDE the FACT he's a rightwinger!! I intend to write as many of your advertisers as I can, and let them know I will NEVER buy their products if they continue advertising with MSNBC. To Whom it May Concern,
I just heard you pulled KO off the debates and election coverage.
I am sorry to hear this. It seems as if MSNBC is catering to McCain's obvious attempt to manipulate the media AGAIN.
I was watching MSNBC -- it was MY channel because of Keith and Rachel, the only anchors reporting with hard hitting facts and a semblance of intelligence.
This is a sad day for America. Softballs for the Gender Card playing Gov Palin and McCain, whose efforts to hide from the press deprive Americans of their right to a free press, without which we have NO democracy. It's tough to believe you are actually reacting this way to accusations of KO being "leftist". Newsflash: the centrists in this country are the majority and we are tired of having extremist RW talking points shoved down our throats as "news". But, then, you know this.
C-SPAN it is, then.
I hope a plausible explanation is forth-coming, otherwise you've lost another viewer for good.
Sincerely,
xxxxxxx

The MSNBC overlords were "embarrassed" by the on-air squabbles? Come ON--that gets the network viewers and word-of-mouth and YouTube viral vids the like of which other news networks only dream of! That's ratings gold, fer chrissakes!
Either someone at MSNBC has completely lost touch with the ins and outs of the ratings game or someone in the repuke party made a phone call.
I say again: STUPID move.

70. Olbermann & Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage |
|
From the NYT link:
After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.

"Dear MSNBC: Do you spit or swallow?"
"Dear MSNBC: Why are you replacing Olbermann with a guy who's propaganda sounds better in the original German?"
"Dear MSNBC: DIE IN A FIRE!!! AND YOUR PRISON SHOWS TOO!!!"

84. McCain campaign lied to MSNBC |
|
From the NY Times article: ====================================================== The McCain campaign has filed letters of complaint to the news division about its coverage and openly tied MSNBC to it. Tension between the network and the campaign hit an apex the day Mr. McCain announced Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. MSNBC had reported Friday morning that Ms. Palin’s plane was enroute to the announcement and she was likely the pick. But McCain campaign officials warned the network off, with one official going so far as to say that all of the candidates on the short list were on their way — which MSNBC then reported.
“The fact that it was reported in real time was very embarrassing,” said a senior MSNBC official. “We were told, ‘No, it’s not Sarah Palin and you don’t know who it is.’ ” ======================================================

92. Olbermann never had any business hosting debates, conventions or election coverage |
|
I've posted that for more than a year. His themes, facial expressions and tone all scream of bias.
Matthews is schizo but at least he can make points in favor of both sides.
