A word about the Gallup poll that had so many DUers freak out
The only region McCain is leading is... The South.

Preference for the General Election, by Region

Sept 1-7, 2008
East - Obama 51% McCain 40%
Midwest - Obama 48% McCain 42%
South - Obama 39% McCain 54%
West - Obama 50% McCain 43%

August 25-31, 2008
East - Obama 54% McCain 37%
Midwest - Obama 50% McCain 40%
South - Obama 44% McCain 48%
West - Obama 49% McCain 42%

So, no reason to panic. The only meaningful movement is in the south, Obama is leading where it matters.

1. But that is from the 1st to the 7th
Obama had a big lead until halfway through the week.

2. That's what I had guessed.
Already-red states just getting more so, due to selection of rightwing extremist Palin as VP candidate.

3. When reality hits, I hope most Americans see that...
...they will be re-electing Bush if they vote McCain.

I supported McCain against Bush in 2000 - but he's now the Republican party's lap-dog.

4. But it psychologically causes people to think twice
and the ones who want to vote for the winner are swayed to switch. I wish people would stop paying attention to these damn polls. Pretending that the country has switched its opinion, when we're just dealing with the south, is MANIPULATION.

5. The Main Stream Media knows how to slant polls
They phrase the question to favor one side or the other.

They call at the time of day to get the 'correct' type of person to respond.

They call the region of the country that gives them the answer that they want.

Watch out here, when the viewing public grows accustom to McCain being in the lead, it will shift back to Obama. These lead changes keep people in front of their televisions watching the advertisements.

Obama is in the lead, and always has been. The American people are being played like a fiddle by the MSM.
