Women against Palin - Fury and Dread - Participation requested
Fury and dread

Hello there--

Friends, compatriots, fellow-lamenters,

We are writing to you because of the fury and dread we have felt since
the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the
Republican Party. We believe that this terrible decision has surpassed
mere partisanship, and that it is a dangerous farce on the part of a
pandering and rudderless Presidential candidate that has a real possibility of
becoming fact.

Perhaps like us, as American women, you share the fear of what Ms. Palin
and her professed beliefs and proven record could lead to for ourselves and
for our present or future daughters. To date, she is against sex education,
birth control, the pro-choice platform, environmental protection,
alternative energy development, freedom of speech (as mayor she wanted to ban books
and attempted to fire the librarian who stood against her), gun control,
the separation of church and state, and polar bears. To say nothing of her complete lack
of real preparation to become the second-most-powerful person on the
planet.

We want to clarify that we are not against Sarah Palin as a woman, a
mother, or, for that matter, a parent of a pregnant teenager, but solely as a
rash, incompetent, and altogether devastating choice for Vice President. Ms.
Palin's political views are in every way a slap in the face to the
accomplishments that our mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmothers so fiercely
fought for, and that we've so demonstrably benefited from.

First and foremost, Ms. Palin does not represent us. She does not
demonstrate or uphold our interests as American women. It is presumed
that the inclusion of a woman on the Republican ticket could win over women voters. We want
to disagree, publicly.

Therefore, we invite you to reply here
womensaynopalin@gmail.com>

with a short, succinct message about why you, as a woman living in this
country, do not support this candidate as second-in-command for our
nation.

Please include your name (last initial is fine), age, and place of
residence.

We will post your responses on a blog called "Women Against Sarah
Palin," which we intend to publicize as widely as possible. Please send us your
reply at your earliest convenience. The greater the volume of
responses we receive, the stronger our message will be.

Thank you for your time and action.

VIVA!

Sincerely,

Quinn Latimer and Lyra Kilston

**PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY! If you send this to 20 women in the next hour,
you could be blessed with a country that takes your concerns seriously.
Strangerthings have happened.

1. I sent this link to everyone I know a couple days ago.
I hope that when I send anti-Palin emails, they get into the hands of Republicans or fence-sitters to enlighten them. This link came back around to a friend of mine with this response in one of the forwards:

Sorry folks, don't really know who you all are, but this popped up on my computer, so I guess I have a right to respond. But this "Women against Sarah Palin" sounds like a lot of hot air. Where is the substance in all this groundless negativism. Sure, she may not be the very best pick, but who is???? But, I'd much rather have a real woman like Palin trying to make real changes and standing for real principles than more of the bull that the past Washington goofballs have offered us . Remember, it's been male Republicans and Democrats that have screwed up this country and gotten us where we are. Not just any one party, but both. And if you can't see the truth in that, then you have probably already deleted this.

I don't like everything about her, but I think that she will do a whole lot better than you or I. This sounds like a lot of bogus smearing from Democrats. And the wimpy Republicans (like Bush) should have already called the Media on this. It's pathetic. We need to focus on wear she stands on REAL issues. So, if you want Obama ruining this country, ..... I guess I should say running this country, then vote for him. But remember, he has a hundred times more scandal behind him and a whole lot less political experience than she does. If you don't want Obama, then quite fanning flames of hate and vote for someone who won't listen to belly achers but who will listen to real American concerns regardless of their party loyalty. The democrats and republicans have screwed us all. McCain and Palin is the closest thing to a third party that can get us out of our rut that has every come along. I bet most of you have said one time or another that you wished "someone else" could run and beat the two major parties. Well, here is your chance. Put your vote where your mouth is. I am. You think it was bad with Bush, wait till the most extreme liberal in government gets in office, and the #3 liberal as his running mate. We might as well might as well kiss the words "America and American" goodbye, because they wont be politically correct for long. Remember, if you didn't like Bush, GREAT!!!! Because McCain is NOT is same.

~~~~~
I don't know who this person is, but my idea of enlightening people backfired here! lol
