Will Biden step aside?
NASHUA, New Hampshire (CNN) — Joe Biden told supporters at a town hall Wednesday afternoon that Barack Obama might have been better off choosing Hillary Clinton as his running mate.

“Make no mistake about this, Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight,” Biden said testily when a voter told Biden he was glad the Delaware senator had been chosen and not Clinton.

“She’s a truly close personal friend and she is qualified to be President of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be Vice President of the United States of America and quite frankly it might have been a better pick than me,” he continued.

“She’s first rate. No, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate.”

but in all honesty he has not helped the ticket...so far he has said glowing things of Palin, now says that Hillary would have been an even better pick as a running mate than he is, and when he talks to crowds he seems lose people because he goes on and on....I love Biden but I think Obama would have done better with someone else...soemone who is more comfortable going on the attack.

51. Yep.
Edwards was actually my first pick - sorry to say I'm sure glad that didn't work out - but my 2nd choice was Biden, in spite of the fact I'm still mad over the bankruptcy bill. I know WHY he did it, just wish he hadn't.

At any rate, I totally agree. I think he's just sick of Hillary being trashed and spoke up on her behalf. Everything he said was true, though likely best not all of it said. (one of his minor weaknesses)

56. It should still make any freaking PUMA think twice about voting Repuke.
I supported Hillary in the Primary. Then I switched to Obama (although I never begrudged Hillary her right to stay in the campaign).

If there was any doubt about what a good man Biden is in Clinton's supporters eyes, that should be erased RIGHT NOW.

I already knew I agreed with Biden on the issues, but now I see I repsect him as a gentleman.

He went too far, but I think it's only because he is passionate.

72. It's not going to happen, because it would be political suicide.
Never mind what anybody thinks of Hillary. Switching VP's to ANYONE would be political suicide.

It would be implying two things... 1) Obama's first "official Presidential decision" was a failure. 2) Repukes are dictating OUR policies (since putting Hillary on the ticket could only be seen - at this point - as responding to the Palin crap.

And crap it is. It would be the end of this election.

And anybody who wants to call me a "Hillary hater", save it. My answer would be the same if she was the one chosen, and they swapped her out for Biden or anybody else.

We have a ticket, it's a damn good one, and we're keeping it! Turn Biden loose as an attack dog and let him do his job. And if Hillary wants to jump in and debunk this whole goddamn overblown nonsense of "PUMAS" supporting Moosealini, then more power to her as well.

73. We still do not know what O and H discussed at Feinstein's house. She might have said she did not
want to be considered for VP.

78. No, in such matters I see Biden as being very gracious plus he was pointing out...
how much more talent Dems are able to bring to the table, Manchurian/neocon war candidates having none :kick:

80. It seems unlikely that he would or that HClinton would step in.
The entrails have been spilled upon the rock and the village elders are examining them as we speak.

In some matters the fates meander and can be observed at any time from any angle. In politics, they have to be left as they are, and they change or don't change as they will.

Biden is having the time of his life right now. His wife Jill is also. I'm not seeing a set of circumstances that would persuade them to abandon something they truly believe in.

And, not least, they're doing a world of good for Barack Obama's chances. It's a sensational ticket with a lot of bedrock integrity in the two families.

85. Hi OC...
As I said up in the thread, he was just being MODEST. Joe is a very humble man. :hi:

87. Hi, 1corona4U, and a happy Wednesday night.
I agree with you all the way. Biden was being a decent soul, which is truth in advertising, as he's been a decent soul for a damn long time now.

There's a generosity of spirit to him that I respect very much. I have a hunch that both Biden's brains and his heart were factors in Obama's choice.

96. What a humble statement to make in defense of Hillary.
You don't hear that too often from many politicians.
