Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 06:38 AM by timeforarevolution
specifically the firing of Monegan. Shows her complimenting him at big meeting, then firing him three months later.

Oh yeah, you can tell he (Brian Ross) knows Palin is at fault here and is dangerous. He didn't say anything that gave the McCain camp any slack.

I wish he would have brought up the thing about rape kits, but he did bring up how Monegan is being supported by at least one large shelter/group for abused women, an organization Monegan had always been active in.

1. Ross is our only hope with Charlie
He'll have to follow up on reports his own network is making.

2. No shit, I'm really curious how Gibson will do this...
although the interview is not live, is it?

With the events of yesterday -- the media actually doing their jobs a bit more -- Gibson has to know his reputation is on the line with this interview (not that many of them have cared about that for the last seven years).

I really have no desire to watch what she has to say; I AM curious what he will ask.

Someone else already posted how the viewing public (other than the Rapture Ready folks) already has Palin fatigue, so....

4. I don't expect anything but fluff from Gibson
IF he asks anything about Troopergate, the questions will be framed in a way that allows Palin to lie or non-answer her way out of it.

I want someone to start asking about the 1100 e-mails she won't release under "executive privilege" despite the fact that her husband, a private citizen, received a carbon copy.

But Gibson will never go there. Tonight's interview is her debutante party. They chose someone to give her a softball interview.

3. Ross Is Applying The White Wash
Doesn't he still have the names and numbers from Debra Palfry's diary? Or how about his "fine reporting" about the Anthrax murders.

He'll cover up as much as he'll uncover. This is an attempt to pretend that the fix isn't in...and innoculate Capital Gains Charlie's puff piece on Grandma Bacaruda.

ABC News rates with Faux...propagandists in the pocket of the repugnican party.

5. Yes, and there is that....lol
We've grown weary of journalists SEEMING to do their jobs, then realize they did it for the very reasons you state here.

With Gibson doing the Palin interview, I shall keep holding my breath...

We'll see. I do want to keep people abreast of what the average viewers are being exposed to on M$M, especially if there is any semblance of the truth, however rare it may be.

:)

6. The Obsurdity Of The Past Month Says It All
I'm always curious to the reactions...why DU is a great water cooler on what the beltway villagers are babbling about. Many of these beltway bubbleheads have inbred within the city's political culture (a factory town indeed) and they're sucked into the latest gossip and spin like moths drawn to a flame. Charlie has no clue about sitting in a clinic for hours on end hoping to get treatment or not even having insurance at all. He gets a nice vacation...doesn't have to worry about losing a home or even a job as he'll always find some beltway corporate to throw money at him.

It's a bubble that has lost contact with a vast majority (thank goodness for the "intertubes") but still drives the media narratives that are used to draw viewers and ratings. Since News divisions are now expected to turn profits, the more contentious the coverage, the more eyes will look in the more money the network stands to earn. When I worked in the "media", Election season was like a second Xmas...money would literally walk in the door...and I'm certain the money is flowing in record amounts this year.

Politics has become a bloodsport...but also a Chinese checkers game. I find it interesting to see how its played on its various levels and which ones get the real play when I'm out canvassing. Palinpalooza is starting to become a burn-out and real distraction. The truth comes out with each new revelation and through the reactions of Camp Gramps. Grandma is a former sportscaster...why she can deliver the "zingers" and stick to the script. She also can charm...vacuous, but charming...and Gibson may pretend he's throwing a tough one, but in the end, he'll let her spin into some non-sequitor and onto a talking point.

Cheers...

7. I have it on good authority that he's had to kill stories before..
because the Disney masters commanded it. FWIW he appears to have lots of contacts inside the "Agency", and uses them, so I just wonder how those folks stand with Princess Barracuda.
