Obama's campaign would be over, done, cooked, imploded if
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 11:21 AM by Old and In the Way
-he used his office to allow his wife to carry narcotics for her consumption on a diplomatic passport.

-he had a scandal where he traded campaign favors for political influence ala Keating 5.

-he picked a Veep with the same skill set and experience as Sarah Palin.

-he called his wife a trollop and c++t in public.

-he couldn't remember what border Afghanistan was on.

-he kept confusing Iraq with Iran.

-he involved himself in a regional conflict that has no strategic value to this country.

-he surrounded himself with a lobbyist operation of 150 people to manage his campaign.

-he dumped his 1st wife for a 24YO heiress to a beer fortune, committing adultery in the process.

-he had a lobbyist that got him to intercede with the FCC on broadcasting licensing with a potential sex angle involved.

-he was 72 years old with a medical history of numerous occurrences of cancer.

-he was celebrating his birthday with a cake while New Orleans was drowning.

-he was in a Party that has been a governing disaster for the past 8 years.

-he had falsely fingered Iraq for the 9/11 attack.

-he had fellow Senators of his Party publicly worried about his temper and temperament to be POTUS.

-he was caught on camera celebrating his birthday with a celebrity and indicted con artist in some exotic locale.

-he couldn't remember how many houses he owned.

-he violated campaign rules about flying in private aircraft, owned by his wife, at n/c to his campaign.

-he thought rich was making $5MM/year.

-he let Michelle show up for his nominating convention, wearing $280,000 worth of jewels.

-he continued to lie about his VP's accomplishments. particularly on earmarks and the bridge to nowhere.

-he stated that Joe Biden probably knew more about energy than any other person in the US.

-he graduated 894/895 in his class and crash 4 jets while in the military.

If he were running as a Republican, these problems wouldn't matter. IOKIYAR

While Democrats are put under a microscope as if looking for any tiny little flaw. The amount and degree to which this is unfair is truly sickening. :puke:

58. I "whine" about the OP ALL the time ...
for MONTHS now, I noted each incident and the fact that he it been BO, it would have been a campaign ender.

Howard Dean had a genuine and appropriate expression of emotion, the kind of genuine expression of emotion EVERYONE says they wish a politician would display, and it ended his campaign - and he was vilifie dfor the "Dean Scream" for years, and turned into a laughing stock.

McCain has had 40-50 different things WELL beyond the scream, and the media just passes it off WHILE propogading total crape like Reverand Wright, celebrity, FLAG PIN, Michele being "mad" ...

What is even more perverse is this - BO might be TRULY exceptional, he shows the intellect, the capability, the nuance and manner to be a special president. Meanwhile, McCain IS in senile dementia.

Collectively, these puke bags should be shot for treason.

66. I did too ...
In big fat letters, left a pile of 'em on my desk, hung one up on my anti-b*sh, anti-mcsame, anti-rethug, pro-impeachment *covered* walls at my desk (which is in a highly visual, high foot traffic area).

And I'll probably hear about it. Two months ago my (neocon) manager told me I had to take it all down. I filed a grievance with the union. He backed off. If he says one damn word to me about my most recent addition I'm gonna rip him a new one.

Enthusiastic k&r.

When I first posted a blog about McCain I figured that a few friends would read it and that would be it, but after three weeks it had almost 200 views. While I do have exactly 200 friends on there, 190 of them are bands and not actual friends, so someone out there is reading the blogs. I figure I may as well keep posting stuff then. :)

33. There is no double standard
The Obama campaign has DECIDED not to attack the opponent on any of those matters.

Don't expect the public to figure it out on their own.

Don't expect the media to do it for you.

OK, I'll admit it is easier for McCain because he has slime like Limbaugh and O'Reilly to to the heavy lifting. But if the Obama campaign didn't see this coming (evidently not) and have a plan to deal with it (obviously not), don't point the finger elsewhere.

129. Documented, in 1992.
Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days

73. Sorry, I don't.
You can probably google every one of the points and come up with mainstream sources for the support. I just decided to unload all of these in one place, just to purge my frustration at the obvious obliviousness of our traditional media outlets. It seems they are starting to wake up, but no one ever puts the entire body of evidence together that paints McCain as just another sleazy, greedy, power mongering Republican that he is. We really don't need a guy that takes the worst of Bush-Cheney and puts them in one package.

Strange isn't. I never see the other side sourcing their smears, but we always have to provide reputable sources, even when it's common knowledge.

GOOD JOB with the list.

for reference, I think he finished 5th from the bottom of 899, but I could be wrong.

On McCain's class rank...if I err'd to the negative, the whole attack line on the piece would be focused on that fact...it's the way the RW noise machine operates.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_life_and_military_career_of_John_McCain#Naval_Academy

McCain graduated from the Naval Academy in June 1958; he was fifth from the bottom in class rank, 894th out of 899.<34[br />

95. And still the Republican sheep cry "Liberal media picking on MEEEEE!"
Sometimes I feel like I don't mind the Republican politicians so much as I mind the moronic, brain-dead, programmed talk-radio-blathering automaton assholes that support them and will race out to vote for them time and time again, regardless of how poor a job they do. These are the shits that trot all over the internet spraying urine all over any discussion board they can to cry about the "liberal media" that "never gives us a chance."

I really don't know what's worse about these sewer-dwelling shitbombs: the fact they continue to worship the ass of anyone who hates taxes and loves guns (Dick Cheney never needs toilet paper when Freepers are around), or the fact they intentionally distort reality whenever possible to pretend the past eight years haven't been a total failure for this country. The Republican Party has zero credibility: their ideas have failed time and time and time again, and if this was a sane universe they wouldn't even dare to field a candidate this year, let alone a pair of shameless, incompetent liars like McCain and his know-nothing sidekick (whom the Republitards of course have transformed from an ignorant moose-hunting waste of space to the most brilliant politician since Lincoln since she has an (R) after her name)

 I couldn't agree more with your observations. It blows my mind that there are so many low information voters who are losing their jobs, homes, cars, 4x4's...yet continue to eat the talking points of Rush and Sean. Do they stop and think that these 2 guys are getting paid $250,000,000.00 (a quarter billion dollars) to convince them that their financial problems are all in their mind? That Republican governance over the past 8 years hasn't run this country into the ground? Nope...they think politics is like a baseball. They're the Yankee's and we're the Red Sox (sorry, I'm a Sox fan so I can't make us the bad guys :-))...hell we'll freeze over before they start rooting for the Red Sox. Even if it means losing everything they have, rooting on their team to "win" the game. I know one thing. If the the tables were reversed and it was the Democrats running on this record, I'd be a registered Republican today.

I was critical of Obama when he called Ted Kennedy too old and said we'd have to get along and govern with the Republicans. Good governance sounds good to Democrats which are apparently more positive people. But, like to find a Republican who agrees when it's October and the election is hot. I mean . . . how is Obama a "Muslim" (or "MusliN", if you still use crayons unironically or unartistically in your adult years ) or a "Marxist"? Anyone who uses "Red Menace" smack in 2008 needs a Buford T Justice dead kick in the ass. DUMB.

You tromp around, bluster, puff your chest out, act like you have more testosterone than you do, and you can pretty much fake most people out. You can have them thinking that you are actually one pretty tough dude who will save the country, and nothing anyone says against you is worth a crap.

Gorillas have been doing this fake chest thumping since they came into existence.

The Repigs learned this lesson years ago. The Dems? Nah. They have never done that, that I recall. Which I guess is partly why they lose.

144. I'd advise starting a new thread. For the reason you mentioned.
Good luck.

And thanks for the effort.

Thanks!
If this is something that strikes to the basic double standards that works against Democrats and favors Republicas, it does make sense to source these points. No one seems to expect Republican smears to be sourced, but Democrats must source facts.

152. As far as I've been able to find, that's not a good way to go.
This site:

Says he only crashed two, it wasn't his fault, and he was a good pilot.

153. He crashed ONLY two jets?

Wow, he crashed two jets.

And then crashed a third jet getting shot down by the North Vietnam army.

And was involved in yet another accident that resulted in over 100 sailors dying.

Yeah.. sounds like an excellent wingman to have flying with you!

Well, at least you got one thing right...

"that's not a good way to go"

155. According to the above source,
both crashes were supposedly due to engine failure and not pilot error. The Navy hasn't released the records of his crashes, and I seriously doubt they will before Nov. A third accident involved his jet being struck by an accidentally launched missile from another plane that hit his while he was on a carrier. There were many casualties and he took shrapnel. The fourth plane was shot down and that's where he spent his time as a POW.

Military people get very resentful if you don't present the record honestly and may take that resentment and turn it against Obama.

But if you have contrary info, or a parsing of the presented info, I'm all ears.
