VIDEO: McCain Gets Ripped Apart On--of all shows--THE VIEW
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 01:42 PM by Placebo

What does it say about America when McCain has to go on a show like this in order to get called on his PS (polar bear shit) and asked tough questions?

Also, can he quit it with the, "My campaign wouldn't be smearing Obama if he'd do Town Halls with me every day" nonsense?

1. yet, they too let him get away with too much (which is understandable, they're not journalists)
But still, it's not that hard to counter McCain saying stuff like "Name one way in which I've changed?" Uh, gladly, John. Here's Wonkette's take on the View appearance.

http://wonkette.com/

"What is the world coming to when the ladies on The View ask John McCain the toughest questions he’s gotten in weeks? And yet even these hardened journalists don’t follow up on one of his most infuriating talking points of this whole infuriating campaign, which is that he had to start running ads that were complete utter laughable bullshit lies because Obama didn’t want to debate him as often as McCain would have liked. This is akin to saying, “I was forced to smother your house in a truckload of diarrhea because you wouldn’t answer my phone calls.” Anyhow, here he is, squirming despicably"

2. It's so true!
You have to go outside the so-called "News" organizations in order to get the facts. Sad.

18. Man, that's what I've been saying for weeks....
they would make GREAT ads: they get to the point -- to the TRUTH -- in a matter of seconds, in a way everyone understands.

And, it would be DIFFERENT.

The sameness of campaign ads has made them like white noise: the music, the general tenor, the visuals...local, national, regardless of party, they blend into nothingness and rarely get anyone's attention. Not the attention of those they're aiming for, at least.

25. McCain flunks eighth grade civics: "The role of the Supreme Court is to enforce
the United States Constitution."

Um, no.

Enforcement is specifically the duty of the Executive branch. The role of the Supreme Court is specifically to interpret the laws passed by the Legislative branch and signed into law by the president.

29. A longer time slot is needed -- like a Charlie Rose --
where, when he says a blatant lie, like Obama's Pig remark, the interviewer can keep hammering on it instead of having to move on in the interest of time.

For example, when he said Palin didn't take earmarks as GOVERNOR, and Barbara W said "she did as mayor", he continued on with "but the fact is that..." with out addressing that specific charge. In a longer interview, I would hope, the interviewer could counter with "but the fact remains that you claim she's anti-earmarks, yet she was wallowing in them as mayer -- how do you reconcile that." And when McCain tries to move on, bring it back to the issue.

33. OK he failed his 6th grade civics.... he fucked up big time there
in the clip the second from the top he said that the "Supreme Court enforces the constitution of the United States"

If I remember my 6th grade civics class, it is the Executive Branch that enforces the laws/Constitution, while the Judicial Branch interprets the laws/Constitution

and this guy wants to be in charge of the Executive Branch

39. It's really sad that it's come to the point that a coffee talk show
or a spoof show provide the hardest hitting journalism available.

Goldberg had him on the run with the church and state line of questioning, another follow up or a more precise question would have caused a fumble. The expression on his face had busted all over it. He KNOWS he has compromised too much to have a chance in this election and is quite possibly selling the country out to get his shot.

John McCain has no honor. John McCain will sell his soul to win an election.

We must bring them down.
