Freeper response to Obama computer ad
No, I'm not going to link to it, but this is the post in full.

I have been thinking about Obama's new ad this morning; something totally dawned on me:

McCain can't use his arms effectively Obama!!!! He has war injuries you moron!!! Of course he can't sit in front of a computer and type.

Now that would be quite a rebuttal!

Personally, I don't think McCain would go for it. We all know how reluctant he is to use his POW injuries for political gain (:sarcasm:, in case I was too subtle for anyone here).

1. Epic Fail
They design computers for people with injuries and McCain can afford one. If he can dial his cell phone he can type on a computer.

but it's also very stealthy. It's hard to really counter seriously. Younger folks, I'd wager, are totally tuned into the message though. He's a walking, talking noob when it comes to anything relevant to them.

31. I didn't know that either
All the more amazing, therefore, that he would become an apologist for fascism, an ideology that even in its less extreme forms (ie the ones that don't involve rounding up "untermenschen" and herding them into gas ovens), still revolves around the idea that compassion for the less fortunate in society is unmanly, and wants to replace democracy and the rule of law with a society in which the strongest take what they want and leave the rest with the scraps.

15. It's an official spot
The bit about McCain saying he can't use a computer is just something that is mentioned in passing, yet it's all anyone seems to talk about. The ad talks about how out of touch he is with the concerns of Middle America, and the computer comment is just used as an illustration of the whole "out of touch" theme.

30. Even if that were true...Should we elect a vegetable to be president, then?
First of all, McCain is capable of using a computer, physically. However, even if it were true that McCain CAN'T physically use a computer, its a shitty retort.

In today's day and age, computers are going to be a part of the process. He's going to have to use a computer, to some extent to do his job.

If we nominated a vegetable to be president, should his lack of cognitive skills be off limits for discussion, because he sufferred brain damage as a result of injury?

Should we hire quadrapalegics to be Navy Seals or firefighters?

The reason WHY he can't use a computer makes no difference to the fact that not being able to use one is a strike against his qualifications for the job.
