Wow! Tweety just said there have been 500,000 new voter registrations in Indiana |
|
and that is one reason why McCain is having a hard time in this traditionally red state. I think Obama can win it!

My 8th district was the first red district to flip blue in 2006. I hope the trend continues.

4. I don't know much about the state ... Besides Gary, are there |
|
other significant African American population centers in the state? Does Indianapolis have much of an AA population? It would be soooo cool if African Americans in Indiana could mobilize and turn out in force for our guy and put him over the top.

6. Gary, Indianapolis, and Bloomington went WAAAAAAY Obama in the primary - |
|
over 2/3's of voters went for Obama in the primary in the counties that enclose these cities. Bloomington is blue, blue, blue with 1 Republican on the 6 seat County Council and 1 Republican on the 9 seat City Council. Indianapolis is Andre Carson's U.S. Congressional District. The Northern regions of the state HATE Governor Mitch Daniels (R) because he turned their highways into toll roads and sold them to foreign countries just for good measure.
There are lots of factors that point in the direction of a possible Obama win -- we need people from Illinois (guaranteed Obama win) and Kentucky (guaranteed McCain win) to get themselves to Indiana to help knock doors.
