This Gov't Bailout Plan is a gift to John McCain |
|
The markets will stabilize now.
The negative effects this will have on our national debt will not be felt for a while.
People will move out of "panic mode" as they see their 401K's rebounding.
...and McCain will be able to make this election about minutae like "lipstick on a pig" and such.
Bernanke and Bush have given McCain a reprieve. They basically passed the buck down the line to our kids with this "rescue plan".
Obama has to HAMMER on that point.
Hopefully the panic and pain of the past several days resonates with the public for a while.

3. It isn't fixed - it's just a temporary patch. |
|
And I don't think it's likely to to hold long.

2. I don't agree. First of all, I remain unconvinced that the markets will stabilize |
|
secondly, this is much, much too big a crisis simply to slip from the national consciousness. Americans are scared and this has refocused people on the issues rather than the cultural bullshit/personalities. Thirdly, McCain has demonstrated how unprepared he is to deal with this economy.

This crisis has shifted the attention from the distractions of the McCain camp to serious, substantive issues.
Obama and co. need to do everything in their power to keep the focus on the real issues.
Whenever McCain attempts to shift focus back to senseless distractions, Obama needs to throw out the line Reagan used against Carter: "There you go again."
For some reason, that line was devastating!
