Obama ad fighting back against the "Born Alive" smears and attacking McCain on abortion.

Obama Links “Born Alive” Attack Spot to McCain Camp

In an unannounced TV ad, the Land of Lincolner ties the independent group’s spot attacking him on abortion to the slew of McCain camp ads widely disparaged by the media.

Ad also suggests McCain is “running on a platform to ban abortion, even in cases of rape and incest.”

Watch it above.

Transcript:

John McCain's attacks? The sleaziest ads ever. Truly Vile.

Now, votes taken out of context, accusing Obama of letting infants die?

Its a dispicable lie.

Even the bill's Republican sponsors said its untrue.

Obama's always supported medical care to protect infants.

McCain?

He's running on a platform to ban abortion. Even in cases of rape and incest.

Sleazy Ads. Anti-Choice. That's John McCain.

1. This is a mistake...
Not the content, but the concept of reaction ads. Obama should be proactively putting out his own message and forcing McCain to respond to him.

2. So, when Kerry did not respond, that was a mistake, too.

5. Yup. Make him cut the reaction ad, not you.
I'm still waiting for Obama to bring up Palin's pay-for-your-own-rape-kit policy. Lots of people don't know that.

6. That is the best ad yet
One of the repeated mantras I've encountered in religious circles is that Obama approves infanticide.

The extremist anti-reproductive choice of McCain/Palin & the RNC Platform has needed to be raised to the light of day for some time -- no abortion even in cases of rape and incest, etc.

Palin needs to be made to own her Feminist for Life membership and be linked to opposition to birth control. Tie Palin to her passive resistance to the 'rape kit' in Wasilla because post-rape treatment might result in abortion. Chain Palin to that crap - make her affirm and embrace it or wound her standing with the Repub base by disavowal.

If Obama keeps staying on offense like this, hammering home the insanity of the Repub ticket, I have high hopes of victory in November.

15. I like the fact that they put in that McCain/Palin is against abortion even in the case of rape and
incest. If McCain wants to object and say that only Palin is against it in cases of rape and incest then let him. He lets it stand or else he objects and brings more attention to his anti-abortion stance as well as Palin's even more extreme stance.

That Obama campaign is smmaaarrrttttt.

9. The title of the YouTube video is inaccurate & anti-Obama. Anyone have link..
I want to share it with people but I don't want to send it out with a title that claims Obama is attacking some random woman.

haven't been able to find a better YouTube link - that was the one both Politico and The Page were showing. The Obama campaign didn't release it to the press.

edit to add - I took the YouTube link out of the OP.

I double clicked on the the video on The Page to get the Youtube link but didn't read its title. I'll look for a better link.

The campaign didn't official release it to the press.

13. This is a great ad because it combines defense and offense.
And it continues to drive home the theme that McCain is running a "sleazy" campaign without honor.

18. Personally...
I think he should have left off the part about McCain wanting to ban all abortions. For an individual who is pro-life the fact that Obama's position on the "Born Alive" was misrepresented by McCain in a sleazy ad is good... the statement that he has always been in favor of health care for infants is great. But then that is negated by re-emphasizing his pro-choice credentials. Hey, everyone knows Obama is pro-choice! The pro-life crowd don't need to be reminded of this. Do they even test these ads with pro-life folk?

Sorry to sound negative.. I'm not, really. This whole issue just depresses me.:(
