Paul Begala's Top 10 John McCain Blowups...
10) Shoved 92 year old Strom Thurmond because he asked 'Is the senator about through?'

9) This is where he gets pissed at a reporter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za2CRoc_kVc

8) Drops the F-bomb when he blows up at John Cornyn

7) McCain calls Pete Domenici an asshole out of the blue. Domenici told Newsweek "I didn't want this guy anywhere near a trigger."

6) He exploded at Senator Chuck Grassley and calls him a fucking jerk. Another senator who witnessed the incident commented that he thought he was going to witness a murder.

5) When McCain was elected to the US Senate in 1986 he was screaming at the top of his lungs and poking the chest of a young republican volunteer who had set up a lectern that was to tall for McCain. This was a powerful man humiliating a powerless subordinate.

4) Tried to get a veteran's affairs expert fired for mistating her boss's position.

3) McCain made undescribed threats to a state senator if he was not endorsed.

2) Denigrated former senator Bob Smith's Vietnam war service. This guy was a republican, too. He says, "His temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him." Smith went on to say, "It raises questions about stability...It's more than just temper. It's this need of his to show you that he's above you--a sneering condescending attitude. It's hurt his relationships in Congress."

1) A secretary who worked for the AZ governor defended her boss when McCain launched into a tirade against him. She stepped up and said, "How dare you? You're an embarrassment to the party." Later on she applied to be an aide to local chairmain of a county McCain personally called him and asked him not to hire her.

Paul Begala ends with this:

Few things are uglier than using great power to harm weaker people. But that is what John McCain has done more than once. McCain has 'a bit of a vindictive streak." A former Pentagon offical stated, "John has an enemies list longer than Nixon's. And unlike Nixon, McCain really does try to you."

All of this is from the book 'Third Term' by Paul Begala. This is an excellent book with topics relevant to today. Get it if you can or check it out at the library.

1. "...using great power to harm weaker people." That's the GOP party platform in a nutshell.

Now the link up there from Belaga's book is great but I noticed the synch was waaaay off.

Look at the same conversation in this link....

The synch is dead on. This is a far better link about temper, if it is real. I am having trouble now, having pulled up from different angles.

Cussing or no, he sux.

9. Normie Coleman is running an ad
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 01:54 PM by dflprincess
where he has clips of "an angry" Al Franken saying things like "I hate these right wing mother****s" among other things. All to prove that Franken is not fit to hold public office. (Franken is running an ad to counter this that asks why Senator Weasel is not outraged.)

Today Normie appeard at a McCain appearance here in Minnestoa, perhaps we should send him this thread.
