Obama: McCain 'a little panicked'

From NBC/NJ's Athena Jones
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- As officials in Washington continued work on a plan to rescue a teetering financial system, Obama responded to McCain's efforts to paint him as a "Washington insider" complicit in the financial crisis, calling it a "panicked" move by the Arizona senator.

“This morning, Senator McCain gave a speech in which his big solution to this world wide economic crisis was to blame me for it,” Obama said to boos from the crowd of about 8,000 people at a South Florida rally. “This is the guy who spent nearly three decades in Washington and after spending the entire campaign saying I haven’t been in Washington long enough he apparently now is willing to assign me the responsibility for all of Washington’s failures.”

“I think it’s pretty clear that Sen. McCain is a little panicked right now,” he added. “At this point he seems to be willing to say anything or do anything or change any position or violate any principle to try and win this election.”

3. Obama should make a list
of all the things McCain hasn't blamed him for yet and make it public. Then as McCain blames him for something on the list , Obama can just say "told ja so"

8. I think this is the way for Obama to get McCain to explode - keep
questioning his honesty, principles, integrity and honor.

10. McSame feels he's OWED the presidency and he sees it slipping away drip by drip.
He's so obviously grasping; even if he's on meds they aren't working anymore to cover it up.

I know from a panic disorder. McCain's indeed panicking and desperate--and he knows he is losing.

11. Plus...he no longer talks about McCain "Serving with Honor" in his speeches ...
he just goes right into his attacks. No more praise. Just negatives.

He even backed off a bit on his "Its not that I don't think John McCain doesn't care ..." intro. After he said that today, he qualified it with, "I'd like to THINK that John McCain cares, but..."

Its cruch time in the campaign and he's not pulling any punches.

13. No panicking allowed at 3AM
This actually digs at McCain's self-touted strength which is really not a strength of his.

14. Note the comments
The obvious freeper comments are getting fewer and farther between - and stupider with each comment. This is an MSNBC forum, not DU, but it's getting harder to tell the difference.

15. Some of those comments are beautiful
McCain is making himself into a national joke. I kind of wish he would just lose with dignity. But I guess any way he decides to lose is ok with me.

16. This was effective and accurate. McCain is acting like a raving lunatic.
Threatening to fire people he can't fire, calling for resignations, blaming everybody and anybody, especially Obama. The old war hero is clearly losing it.

17. Yes, Obama is calling him on it. Obama called Elitist--yet raised by a single mother.
Obama called sexist, when the women in his family dominate. Obama called racist when he's half White. Obama called the cause of this/opportunist when McCain says he has no experience and claimed the economy was great.

McCain is shithead.
