Three generations of my family are going to the Obama rally tomorrow.
I tried to post this earlier, but the DU was doing weird things.

I am really excited. We are taking six people to the rally in Charlotte tomorrow: Me, my husband, my 77 year old mother, my 17 year old son, 12 year old daughter and my son's 16 yr old girlfriend. We are making sure to leave early so that we can try to get close. My mom voted for Bush in 2000, but was disgusted with him by 2004 and so voted for Kerry. But it was a 'lesser of two evils' vote for her. This time around, she asked me if she could come with us tomorrow. She gets around really well, but due to a car accident about 30 years ago she has some problems. She told me today, "Well, I am going to have to wear my neckbrace because my neck has been acting up, but I am determined to go see Barack Obama speak." This is my dyed-in-the-wool-southern-belle-born-and-raised-in-Charleston mother. I am equally happy about how excited my kids are to go. Both kids had other things they had planned to do tomorrow, but both immediately canceled their plans when I told them about the rally this morning. My son asked his girlfriend and she wanted to go, too. There really is a feeling of history in the making.

2. We are from upstate SC, so are coming from the opposite direction.
We are going to try to get to the LYNX station at South Blvd by about 10:30. That should put us in Charlotte at around 11:00, giving us time to check things out and maybe grab something to eat first.

3. If your mom is disabled in any way
check when you get there -- they should let her in ahead of others and get her a good seat.

The disabled are treated specially at Obama rallies and are always let in ahead of other people.

5. wow..that is awesome..
and I second what SharonRB said..if the wait and standing in line is too much for her, let one of the volunteers know and they will get her a seat.
