yep, the "Straight Talk Express" is in the parking lot of a local motel (better not say which lest the Secret Service get on my case). There's a lot of exasperation here about McCain's stunt, and most around here support the guy. We've been getting ready for this for a couple of years now it seems.

2. It would be a shame if y'all took this out on the "Straight Talk Express".
A real shame.

5. Hello to Oxford town. I grew up in Mississippi and went to Ole Miss for a
couple of years. This totally pisses me off, to use an unladylike expression. It's a slap in the face to the whole state and particularly to the university. I hope it crashes McCain in the local polls.

6. I'm proud to say Obama carried Oxford in the primaries in spite of being 80% white
We're more progressive than the rest of the state, but that's not saying a whole lot. Our legislature almost didn't let gulf coast casinos rebuild onshore after Katrina, even though the state's economy depends on them, because Jesus is ok with casinos over water but not casinos a few hundred yards onshore.

9. Aww..
I can't believe it, but part of me misses Oxford. My partner and I are moving back to Mississippi in three years or so.

Wish I was there for this kind of craziness.
