2. Alan "Jangling" Keyes!
Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's Alan Keyes.

4. Hey, why the Hell not?
Give Obama a 50 state landslide, and the Repukes can shut the fuck up about the Reagan myth once and for all.

6. Please go to Tucows.com
Perhaps you can download a sense of humor there?

11. But wouldn't a sense of humor from Tucows expire after 14 days?
Unless you found the crack for it. Which would probably contain some sort of humor-corrupting virus.

8. This is disruptive??
A PUMA apologist thread is disruptive. 366 reminders a day to vote in a rigged PBS poll are disruptive. Repeating bullshit from FAUX & Drudge about "Biden stepping aside for Hillary" is disruptive.

This is humor. Perhaps you don't see it that way because the idea of Palin on the ticket actually makes Keyes look like a reasonable choice for the Repukes?? But then, that brings it back to the bigger joke of this entire neocon Repuke party. It's dark humor, in that respect. But still humor.

10. It's a waste of time, not witty. Shouting "bogeyman" or equivalent is just schoolyard junk.

15. Glad there are some who appreciate it.
Naive master of understatement that I am, I thought the broader point would be obvious. To those not aware of it, when Obama ran for Illinois senate, the republican candidate's campaign imploded. Some sort of sex thing about him insisting on dragging his wife to swap-parties. So they dumped him from the ticket and hauled Alan Keyes in from out of state to run against Obama.

The events of the past few days actually suggest that McCain's campaign is so far off the rails they just MIGHT want to say "oh, the hell with it!" I doubt they would dust off Keyes again, but it is satisfying to savor their dilemma.

I suspect that those who reacted the most negatively to this post are the ones who actually bought the headline and then felt like idiots. Well, I am sorry for your pain (not). I guess should have remembered that DU, too, includes Sesame Street-educated folks, and short, specific sentences with small words were essential. Maybe we could adopt some sort of subtitling policy.
