From the Politico ...

Leahy told Vogel yesterday the media has given McCain a free pass on flubs including mixing up Middle East geography, Shiite and Sunni Muslims, and referring to Russia's relationship Czechoslovakia -- a country that hasn't existed for 15 years.
"It was the same way with Ronald Reagan in the last few years he was president," Leahy said, referring to the belief that Reagan experienced early signs of Alzheimer's disease late in his presidency.

1. Wow. I don't know if it's ignorance, stupidity, or "confusion"...
... but only the first can be cured.

3. I Knew It
They made me learn to spell Czechoslovakia (yes, I cut and pasted it) for nothing. Next thing you know, McCain will be referring to Algebra (Yikes is that still in play?).

Seriously though, the guy wants to be President and doesn't even know what countries the world is presently made of? We can on;y hope he isn't the one tutoring Palin (or maybe we can).

5. With McCain, we would get a two-fer--Bush's 3rd term AND Reagan's 3rd term. Can you think of
anything worse?

8. Somebody's got to do it
If America had a fair and accurate mass media, this election wouldn't even be close.

9. I hope this flies under the radar. I love Pat. He's my Senator but
calling McCain senile could just be a real distraction. The blunt talk that's fine in Vermont, isn't neccessarily something that works so well on the national stage.

13. Cali... If there is blowback against what is a legitimate concern, then
the problem is NOT with the rest of America. The problem is with the press and how they present it. Common sense dictates that his mental and physical fitness to serve, especially with a profoundly vacuous VP are things that have to be considered...

indicates that Leahy is correct.

12. McCain appears to have had a significant shift recently. He's out of it.
