how rethugs might benefit from postponing the debate: new smokescreen, etc...

from a blog:

"Tactically smart, strategically?...dunno.

But it has advantages for McDaddy-

1. Looks like he cares more about the crises than his campaign (which is just looks by the way).

2. Puts Obama on the defensive on it. Best case- he agrees and McCain gets relief from a bad debate on a week of bad news for him. Worst case- Obama balks too long and it seems "McCain cares more".

3. Keeps Rick Davis off the radar...and keeps "keeping Rick Davis off the radar" off the radar.

4. Palin might be able to cancel HER debate with Joe Biden now.

5. Saves him a lot of cash...he doesn't have to spend.

6. Free and friendlier media coverage from the Sunday talk shows."

$15000 per month from Freddie Mac for consulting fees news?

i mean, americans are losing their homes and McCain's campaign manager is up to his neck in corrupt ties to one of the two major mortgage institutions the US just had to take over.....

all fingers of blame point toward McCain.....

so he desperately needs to shift focus off this story

3. In the end all of that won't matter a bit...
People are going to vote on a personal level, how the candidate they choose will fit into their own "vision" of what American will be...

McCain's vision is beffuddled...

Obama's is clear and optimistic.

Now come on, which one of these guys represents the future to you?

And guess what, this time, I think there are more people, no I know there are more people who have a vision of this world that looks real good with Obama as president...

4. might being the operative word.
duh. Obama has NOT agreed. try again. The Commission has NOT agreed. The MSM isn't reacting to this stunt in a friendly way. Obviously. It's already backfired. McCain impulsively gambled and he lost. Try to keep up.

5. huh?
agreed to what?

cancelling the debate, i presume?

of course O has not agreed to cancel

but the point is not whether the debate takes place or not

it's that by saying he would cancel, McCain has created enough media froth to shift the focus off his campaign manager's ties to Freddie

6. As I said, try and kjeep up. The Commission has categorically said
the debate is on. And what has McCain shifted the focus from? Anything that benefits him? Uh, no.
