More leaks on why the debate schedule is being changed
From the Ed Schultz website

http://www.wegoted.com/

this is the entire article, unnamed sources, so take it with a grain of salt:

McCain Camp insiders say Palin "clueless"
Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people
are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held
a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless."

1. clueless would be an accurate description of her. McSame is obviously
trying to keep from going to Miss so that he can reschedule this debate to next Thurs. BTW, he's probably no more prepared to debate O than Palin is to debate Biden. It buys them both some time.

36. Evidence so far, based on her interviews, is that she's unbelievably clueless.
And these have just been brief interviews. I can't imagine what she'll look like after a 90-minute debate, whatever the format.

5. I really don't think he's going to do all that well, either
though probably lightyears better than her.

Has she ever watched Biden debate? It would be enough to make her crap her pants, if she were self-aware enough to know how out of her depth she really is.

8. I'm reminded of the great movie Singing in the Rain

It's terrific-see if if you haven't-but they're dealing with the transition from Silents to the talkies. There is a female star who is great in the Silents-quite beautiful-but once she opens her mouth to speak for the talkies-God help her. We're in the same place now.
She must be shown to be who she is-completely out of touch, and un-Vice-Presidential and certainly un-Presidential. Many people in the States really want McCain to win-they all say, re Palin-"she's bright-she'll learn." But some things just can't be learned overnight-or in the 110 or so days before the next Inauguration, and maybe, for her, in the years thereafter. And I don't think we Americans can entrust our lives and those of our families, to say nothing about the rest of the world,to this particular team-because that is what we are talking about.
She is beloved by some Alaskans-I think she should stay there.
If she speaks-maybe others will want her to go back home. That star did not have much of a career after the talkies-if I remember correctly...

35. Big Eddie is awesome
I love him. Some Democrats hate him, but I don't care.

He is a red meat Republican turned liberal.

His background, his passions and hobbies, the way he talks can help us turn a lot of Republicans into Liberals.

On each market where he is opposite the big RW talkers, he usually trounces them (or so he claims but I believe it).

He is actually credited for making the North Plain States a little bluer.

Listen to his shows on one of the Web sites listed on his site.

I personally listen to his feed right after Miller's show, from the Web site of The Mic in Madison:

http://themic921.com/main.html

He is also a regular on Larry King. I wish Bill Maher could invite him.

I guess he will follow Al Franken's example one day and get into politics.

22. And they just figured this out now? We all new that like within 3 days.
Biden is gonna kill her and they are running scared. But I would have just let her fail and pick up the pieces and have McCain try to debate as best he can. Foreign policy is "supposedly" his strong suit. Now with this political stunt he looks like he has lost his marbles AND he's a jerk AND he did nothing in Washington to help.

32. Sorry, but no.
The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never.

Aww, so it turns out Palin is dumb as a box of rocks and can't even get through an interview with people like Gibson and Couric so the McCain insiders want to find some way to do away with the pesky VP debate?

Tough shit!

Perhaps if they had actually... I dunno... vetted her they wouldn't be in this mess. But noooooo. The impatient and petulant "Maverick" picked her on a whim. Energized the base, for about two weeks, and now she's falling apart. Regardless, he picked her knowing what the VP Nominee would have to do down the road.

No weaseling out of it.

As for the debate tomorrow, the organization which organizes the debates have said it's a go. Tough luck for you, Mister POW, but you don't have to show. Of course, if you don't you won't get three debates, only two. No bitching that you missed a debate because you chose not to go.

I have zero sympathy.
Zero.
Perhaps less than zero.

What if they actually have the debate tomorrow with a third-party candidate and Obama? Could it signal the end of the Republican party, and the rise of another party in its place?

Political parties can and do die (see: federalists).

39. The 'Peter Principle' has been officially renamed the 'Palin Principle'
The "Peter Principle" is the theory that employees within an organization will advance to their highest level of competence and then be promoted to and remain at a level at which they are incompetent. (Laurence Johnston Peter)

The "Palin Principle" is the theory that a person believes their own bullshit until they find themselves buried up to their neck in it on national television. Short form: "'Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." Shorter form: "The Emperoress has no clothes."
