The McCain plan is a give-away of taxpayer dollars |
|
Instead of the government putting up money, raise private investment money.
But why would companies put up money?
Because the taxpayers would give them the money to buy assets with. (funded by tax cuts and increased deregulation of securities)
We pay the money, but don't get the securities.

1. Thank you. My brain is sore from trying to understand all this. You shed some light on it for me. |

2. Pugs don't mind giving away money. What they can't stand is the US owning anything. |

If we get anything for our money that's "socialism."

Here in Minnesota, several McLame ads have said Obama plans on increasing taxes, expanding the federal government, and bleeding the middle class. All of these are, of course, what Bush and his Reaganite Republicans have been doing for years.
Interestingly, I have not seen any Obama ads here which either refute that or attribute any of this to the Pukes.
Can someone explain why this is so??

5. Obama's probably not worried about Minn. at the moment. |
|
If it gets closer you'll see lots of Obama ads.

8. Depends on the poll. There was one tied a while back but the last I saw was a big lead |
|
Obama by 10 or eleven... something like that.
(Minnesota was closer right after Palin was picked, partly because of her accent, I'd assume.)

9. I had thought we could at least put it in the column of him being in the lead. |
|
Perhaps not by as much as we'd like, but definetly in the lead, especially since the economy cratered.

6. Exactly right, K&H. That's the worst possible plan |
|
Populist Democrats must say NO WAY on a plan like that. However, I haven't seen a plan populist Democrats could sign on to either. But the back-door handout you described is a non-starter.
