We used to call it the Point of No Return. |
|
Now it's Jumping the Shark.
Whatever.
McNutso and Palin probably crossed that line some time ago, but they are across the line without a doubt today. People on the media are laughing at them. The Letterman clip, the Couric interview.
You know what? You don't recover from that.
Dukakis in the helmet. The rabbit that attacked Jimmy Carter. George Bush Senior picking himself off the floor after having puked on the guy next to him at the Japanese State Dinner.
It's not that these events occurred. It's what the press did with them, running and re-running them.
They're doing that now.
It's all over.

It's sometimes hard to make a "tone of voice" come through on a message board.

No, it's winning the media battle that is now important these days.

8. Its more than that. We need those last bit of fence sitters who want to see him facing down McCain |

..and if he can do that and come out strong, then the final test will be passed. And it has to be on the foreign policy deabte -- McCain's perceived strength.
The biggest concern for any people who are still undecided is if Obama can pass the national security threshold. The other debates are less important. Its the FP one that is key.

At this rate, there might never be a debate. Fortunately, that plays in our favor.
