National Review: "Palin Should BOW-OUT"
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 10:30 AM by kpete
National Review: Palin should bow out

......................

If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself.

If Palin were a man, we’d all be guffawing, just as we do every time Joe Biden tickles the back of his throat with his toes. But because she’s a woman — and the first ever on a Republican presidential ticket — we are reluctant to say what is painfully true.

What to do?

McCain can’t repudiate his choice for running mate. He not only risks the wrath of the GOP’s unforgiving base, but he invites others to second-guess his executive decision-making ability. Barack Obama faces the same problem with Biden.

Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first.

1. No one would believe she bowed out on her own. And people have already voted for her.

11. I would think so. People have voted for McCain/Palin. Do they get to change their vote if she ...
drops out and someone else takes her place? I would want to be able to decide on the whole ticket.

2. She could out quite gracefully
by admitting she's far more stupid than she'd previously realised.

4. That would require a quantum leap in honesty on her part. Not gonna happen.
It would be fun to watch, I have to admit.

20. That stood out for me too.
What fucking bullshit. Biden is a true statesman with years of experience, not a pathetic 2 year wanna-be in over her head.

8. I never agree with Kathleen Parker....
snip
"Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League".
snip

I do agree with this sentence - "Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League"

Heard someone say yesterday that Palin suffers from Magnetic Poetry Speech Syndrome. Heh. - Balloon Juice

Moose lips sink ships

Someone should tell her that "leadership" and "saying the same vague shit over and over" are different.

it's an article by a contributor, Kathleen Parker.

16. I've been saying this for at least a week now
She could fake that her kid has gotten sick and maybe the First Dude could fake an accident so that she has to drop out. She'd piss off the base, but they will now vote for McConfused anyway. Then they put in Lieberman...

It's going to happen... perhaps before October 2.

17. Hucklebee could put the weight back on, grow some he-boobies, and take her place
He's religious right-nick, so he could supply all that Palin offers to the ticket with the addition of some needed intellect. Of course, Hucklebee has spoken that he cares about the environment, so that might kill those chances.

24. Palin won't quit
A woman who gets on an airplane and travels for 8-10 hours knowing full well she may be putting the life of her unborn child (who she knows will be born with "special needs") in jeopardy; a woman who (in my humble opinion) embarrasses her unwed pregnant 17-year old in front of the country; a woman who supports shooting wolves from the air and cutting off a leg as a bounty, etc., etc. won't quit until she looses. Then she'll go off in a huff and claim it was "their" fault for the loss, not hers.
