Very symbolic that first debate is at "Ol Miss" |
|
I remember when that place was segregated. Wasn't James Meredith the first black student admitted there?

I was referring to Ole Miss specifically because of the Meredith case and others that have tarnished it's past. The university wanted to host this debate because of that and other such incidents. I think it's a great move on their part. Shows how far the university has come since the days of James Meredith.

And the students and towns people fought his entrance into the university tooth & nail. A French journalist was actually killed in the violence.
