Frank Luntz's undecided focus groups are lame. Gotta be stacked decks. |
|
Where does he fish for these "undecideds?" Most of them sound like they lean to Dumbya, yet they are just looking for that tiny nudge to seal the deal.
At the Democratic convention, Luntz polled his "undecideds" about Edwards' and Kerry's great speeches, and not all, but many made disparaging comments like "uninspiring," "same old stuff," "heard it before," "empty promises again," blah blah.
Yet last night he had on his Cincy group (different people) and they reacted quite favorably to Zell's claptrap. They were like "Oh, the fact that he's a Democrat makes all the difference. Yup yup yup." I honestly thought they would denounce it! Silly me.
(Good News, David Gergen on CNN "This speech was all full of hate.")
I think I've had enough of Luntz and his phony focus groups.

1. Unfortunately, many UNDECIDEDS must be lame to still not know how to vote |

2. They are undecided for a reason |
|
They are remarkably stupid people. The ones that were all going to vote for Kerry after his speech were also unbelievably stupid. They will vote for whoever runs the last ad they see before voting, if they vote at all, which they won't.

4. How could anyone possibly be undecided at this point? |
|
Seems like a group of people who just aren't paying attention. Maybe that's why Bush is being so loud and mean, to make them listen?

5. The group tonight was mostly STUPID PEOPLE. |
|
Some of his groups seem average, but the group tonight seemed mostly stupid and mostly rather ignorant.
It was fixed really well tonight because Rove thought it was a crucial time for the GOP to look good.

How can it be explained other than pure stupidity?

7. That bothered me more than anything I saw tonight, even Zell. |
|
Choreographed for sure. Almost all of them were Republicans or damn close to it...
The segment just started on MS-NBC for anyone interested.

weren't they more receptive to Kerry's speech than Edwards's?
Whatever the case, I think you're right. These focus groups with Luntz are just plain stupid. He's a republican pollster and I don't have any faith in him.
