My Verdict: For what it's worth (less than nothing!) |
|
McCain was a nasty, sleazy, sneering, condescending, patronising, lecturing scumbag, how many times did he say "Senator Obama just doesn't understand"? And what was with his refusal to even once look Obama in the eye....a predictable "you're not worthy" ploy.
Obama stayed cool and composed, but I desperately wanted him to be more aggressive - not in a McCain-like scumbag way, just in a 'listen here you prick, these are the facts.....' kind of way. NO MORE "John is right", please!! John is rarely right, Obama needs the electorate to know that.
So which approach goes down better with the American public? That, of course, is the key.
If you have half a brain you will know that McCain was repulsive tonight, a tired old bitter man, but I do fear his performance will have gone down well in some (undecided?) quarters, with people seeing him as the wise old man, and Obama the greenhorn.
I'm sorry, I know that won't be popular - but if he didn't know before Obama knows now, he's up against a nasty piece of shit. He'll be ready for him next time.

2. I had the same take and thought if McCain can't even make basic polite EYE CONTACT with a fellow |
|
American, how could he be effective with other world leaders with whom he may have huge disagreements?
McCain's temperment, his nastiness, his condescending remarks were not presidential.

3. Obama is allowing McCain to stir bile in our throats... |
|
I get frustrated too, and I do think Obama should slip in a zinger now and then when McCain is lobbing grenades at him.
I think Obama is counting on the fact that a schoolyard bully can seem cool delivering a one-liner, but once you know his repertoire, you know what he's about and tire of him quickly.
There are three Presidential debates. By the time they're over, along with the crap he's pulled outside of the debates, I think that people will be pretty tired of the affected and petty disrespect. Obama has shown that he can trade words on any topic, so it makes McCain look increasingly desperate and small.
