the McCain camp is making such a big deal out of Obama's agreement with him-- |
|
I guess they must think Obama's opinion is pretty important after all.
Can they really question his judgment any more, after using his agreement with McCain as Talking Point Number One?

1. Spin it as "McCain shares a lot of Obama's opinions" |
|
Just flip it around. Easy.

17. That's the "correct" way to do it-- first, find some common ground |
|
(if you can), then point out where there's disagreement. That's the civilized way to communicate. But then, sadly, the repugs haven't been civil in years.

What does it say about a campaign when its greatest talking point is that your opponent agrees with you on a few things?
They got nothing ...

lol....goes from "Obama turned the meeting into a Partisan shouting match! St John the bipartisan just listened!" into "Oooh, Obama agreed with McCain on several things!" Just like the partisan/bipartisan switcheroo at the RNC convention. I don't think it really has an effect.

5. Obama reached out - McCoot reached down |
|
Let them bring up how even handed Obama was during the debate. It only reminds us of how grouchy McCain appeared.

19. Absolutely. We need someone who can reach out. |
|
And Obama has demonstrated that all along. Class, real class. We've forgotten what that is with the hijacking of our country. :(

7. Instead it shows he agrees with many Americans ... |
|
who will not vote for him and that, once elected, he will be able to work across party lines, maybe even with... Senator McCain.
If that is all they've got to spin, let them spin it like a record, baby.
I just won't listen to it.

|
then that means they know they lost.
2 out of 3 independents surveyed say Obama nailed it. I'm not interested in what John McCain has to say about it.

12. btw, (hubby and i recognized) a commentator pointed out it is a gentlemanly way |
|
to argue and there was nothing wrong with that style. MOST people are more agreeable to that style. that obama would say i agree, a president needs to be prudent, BUT.... and then show the differences. he did fine on that.

If Obama agrees with McCain left and right...
and McCain's favorite catchphrase is "What Obama doesn't understand is..."
Doesn't that make McCain come around to saying, "What I don't understand and am just blathering out of my ass about is..."

24. They came out with a new political ad on it (link) It actually is pretty bad for McTroll |
|
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec3aC8ZJZTc Yes they show Obama agreeing with McTroll but then to question his leadership for AGREEING with McCain? Um' that makes you a bad leader? Not the strongest argument to say someone is wrong because they agree with you. Whoooops.
