"Kerry bashing" vs "Bush bashing" in media 77/592 - right wing bias!
Edited on Thu Sep-02-04 07:01 AM by Democat
Reminder, as far as the media is concerned, there is almost no such thing as "Kerry bashing" - it does not exist. You are either a Bush supporter or a Bush basher, you cannot be a Kerry basher, that would sound negative toward the right wing.

Here are the latest stats from a Google News search:

"Bush bashing" 592 matches
"Kerry bashing" 77 matches
"Bush bashers" 97 matches
"Kerry bashers" 4 matches

I did one of these threads a few months ago, but I thought it would be interesting to see if the media has changed their pro-right wing ways. Of course they have not.

The media loves to call Kerry supporters "Bush bashers" but almost never calls Kerry bashers "Kerry bashers" - it's undeniable bias.

2. Yup, I noticed this too.
Everything during the Repuke Convention has been "criticism of Kerry". Not ONCE have I heard anyone on the news call it "Kerry bashing."

Liberal media my ass.

3. Even worse is when they use words like "cites" - CNN did it today
Front page of CNN headline:

Cheney cites Kerry's 'indecision'

Article headline:

Cheney hits Kerry's 'habit of indecision'

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/09/01/gop.dick.cheney/index.html

What kind of bullshit is that? It's supposed to be a news article, but it's really an anti-Kerry editorial by CNN.

According to CNN Cheney didn't bash Kerry, he just cited the facts about Kerry and "hit" Kerry's bad character.

CNN is part of the Bush campaign.

4. There's no question about it
In the lead up to the Democratic Convention every Democrat that went on a talk show was asked about how much Bush bashing would take place. Now during the Republican Congregation I've yet to hear the phrase Kerry bashing even once.

The bulk of the blame rests squarely with the media that have a responsibility to play it fair but our spokespeople have to share some of the blame. The media has become so lazy that for the most part they just parrot whatever talking points that they are given by the parties and the pukes are much better at targeting our folks with negatives than we are with theirs. It's almost as if there's no realization by the Party that the pukes have taken over the airwaves.

5. Great numbers...
Great for proof that the media is biased, but not great for Kerry. Very simple, but ingenious way of proving media bias.

7. Google News is a great source for monitoring the media

They don't cover everyone (only text, not TV or radio obviously), but they have most of the major news sources.
