"What if the whole world could vote" poll by The Economist. Obama has slight lead...
Obama currently has a 7995 to 12 lead in the "global electoral-college" vote.

1. Now now, El Salvador is leaning strongly towards Senor McCain...

5. Makes me wish there WERE a global electoral college
I wouldn't mind a lead like that right now. Maybe I wouldn't feel so anxious about November, then.

7. Slovakia is pro-McCain. It figures
The conservative half of Czechoslovakia elected conservative leaders, and now Slovakia is economically in the shitter compared to liberal Czech Republic. Conservatives are dimwits in whatever country they live in.

11. If Australia could vote in your election
not only would Obama win in a landslide but you wouldn't have to waste time making sure everybody gets out to vote. It's compulsory here. We think that everybody of voting age should consider it their civic duty to vote.

For all the interviews I've seen of the general public coming from the US, anyone that I've seen pro McCain/Palin, they have come across as lacking intelligence or maybe just a bit slow thinking.

12. There is also an element of "staying loyal to the [Republican] team"
I don't know if that's a uniquely U.S. thing, but it certainly is a factor in our elections. My team, right or wrong. Ugh.

I wish I could live in Australia...:hi:

18. Lovely! And yet...
Read the comments and behold: the ugly (neocon)American in all its glory.

One minute you reading an insightful, respectful statement from some world citizen, and then, BOOM!, you run into a snotty petulant post like, "Any remaining respect I might have had for the 'world's' opinion has taken a sharp downward turn," or "Thank the gods that only US citizens can vote in the election."

Gee. I wonder why the world wants the like of these boneheads out of power over here?

The conservative posters at the Economist website tend to be very voluble but among the least coherent.
