Brainstorming session: fun things to do in front of Repug HQ in my fair city |
|
Republican HQ in my city (pop. ~25,000) has taken up residence in a former furniture store on one of the busiest intersections in town. Before I approach the two ladies who are running Democratic operations, I'd like to come up with some great ideas for making light of the McAnus/Failin campaign.
Some things I've been contemplating:
* Drawing attention to the failed business that now houses 'pug operations
* Organizing a chapter of Billionaires for Bush to amuse passersby
* Something with a Halloween theme that emphasizes how scary a McAnus presidency would be
Please, fellow DUers, help me come up with ideas for satirizing the Greedy Old Pigs! This is Ohio, after all, so every vote is precious!
P.S. - before actually joining DU, I lurked for years. I recall an 'Activist Corps'; is it still active? I started looking around but didn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

I would have located it eventually, but I'd rather ask those who already know. Thanks! :hi:

3. You could always use the polar bears vs. Palin visual. |
|
Get a few polar bear costumes and have someone dress up as Sarah.
I'm going to keep an eye on this thread because we have a peaceful demonstration planned at the McCain-Palin office later in October and would also love some fun ideas!

Dress as Failin and try to get people to sign a petition to ban books/remove polar bears from the endangered species list/repeal roe vs wade/teach creationism in schools/etc.
I know that would scare the crap out of me!
On edit: I'm considering doing this in downtown Portland ME for Halloween now! Think I'll stop by the local Obama office and see about doing a voter reg drive at the same time. :-)

involves a poster with the word 'Palin' on it, accompanied by a coathanger. This is venturing outside the theme of ridicule, but I believe it would make a bold, unambiguous statement about the consequences of another repug regime (especially when the ages of some SC justices is considered).

6. It would definitly drive the point home (no pun intended) |
|
and be a very loud statement - one that I would definitely appreciate seeing and would get a lot of play in my hometown. This election is too important not to do something for; especially with Failin (and everything she stands for) actually being in reach of the VP and possible POTUS positions.
