9. The full impact of the debate...
The full impact of the debate and its aftermath will not be reflected in the tracking data until Tuesday's report, which will be based on interviewing conducted Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Still, Gallup's one-day read on the standing of the two candidates on Saturday suggests that Obama held the lead over McCain among registered voters that night, just as he had for the two previous nights.

50. Don't forget external events
The ONLY thing I'm worried about is some kind of external event, a MIHOP or LIHOP terroist act on US soil or perhaps a Bin Laden tape. Outside of that, I agree, we have it.

Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 12:06 PM by Eric J in MN
...any Senate Democrats.

If McCain isn't in DC, then wait for McCain to come to DC.

For John McCain to campaign against the bailout is his best hope.

(Ideally, no one would vote for the bailout.)

30. O.K. I'll give it a shot
The trend does seem to support that Obama under performs in the Gallup polls on weekends. He would always drop a point or two then regain the points mid week in the polls conducted throughout the summer. The variations may become smaller as fewer undecideds exist and younger voters may not go out as much in the fall.

Let me use a McLame 'story' example. There are still some Seinfeld episodes I have never seen. (very few) This is because I played softball every Thursday night. (West Coaster) Why Thursday? Because we could go out drinking after the game and muddle through work on Friday. Something was always scheduled for Friday/Saturday, think dual income families, young pre-school aged children.

Now people can always find my old ass at home on at least two of those three nights.... waiting to pick up a kid from some event, social circle that is centered around school/immediate neighborhood.

25. Best spread ever.
My son was concerned that Obama didn't kick ass hard enough during the debates. I told him that Obama has to be careful not to appear to be angry or too agressive. It looks like Obama walked that tightrope perfectly.

His grace and intelligence is beginning to win over undecideds and independents.

Since Democrats got oversight and help for those hurting In the Bailout plan expect some other stint
soon from Mccain.Perhapes Palin withdrawing from the ticket for family reasons and Lieberman stepping
forward. He Is about the only one who would.Romney Is planning his 2012 run against President Obama.

If he thinks a wedding Is what people want to see for a week he Is stupid. However they might use this
to get her out of the debate.I will be surprised If the VP debate actully happens. After Friday
I just can't believe they would let her on the stage with Biden and have to answer questions. And
remember she Is suspose to attack Obama.

48. Look at what the Freepers claim Gallup said vs. what Gallup REALLY said:
Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 01:56 PM by jenmito
"Another FReeper posted yesterday that Gallup's 3 day rolling average had:

Wed: McCain 46, Obama 44%
Thurs: McCain 39%, Obama 56%
Fri: McCain 47%, Obama 47%

If true, then today's Gallup still has Thursday's OUTLIER included in the 3 day rolling average: Thurs, Fri, Saturday. Tomorrow's Gallup sould be more interesting without Thursday's huge outlier."

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2092443/posts

"The full impact of the debate and its aftermath will not be reflected in the tracking data until Tuesday's report, which will be based on interviewing conducted Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Still, Gallup's one-day read on the standing of the two candidates on Saturday suggests that Obama held the lead over McCain among registered voters that night, just as he had for the two previous nights.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/110740/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Moves-50-42-Lead.aspx

But this time they said yesterday's numbers were as strong as the previous days', so we'll see.
