Treasury Confirms Paulson Woozy Spell - WaPo
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/livecoverage/2008/09/treasury_confirms_paulson_fain.html?hpid=topnews

At the final, critical meeting in negotiations on the $700 billion Wall Street bailout -- the last round of talks began at 10:40 p.m. Saturday and ended around 12:25 a.m. this morning - Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson was so short of breath that lawmakers called the Capitol physician because they were so concerned.

Paulson, 62, a former Dartmouth offensive tackle, told lawmakers he was fine and waved off the doctor, despite working around the clock for several days.

But as Paulson and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) later walked to the microphones to address the media, they were locked arm in arm. Treasury confirmed moments ago that Schumer was steadying Paulson, helping him walk.

1. Did the poor little tool of the oligarchy not feel good?
Poor little Hank. I hope he's a lot worse than woozy after this takes hold.

2. Poor guy
And I don't mean that sarcastically. Paulson is under a ridiculous amount of stress. Whatever he's done in the past, however bad a solution this bailout may be, Paulson is genuinely trying to save the country from what he must see as an apocalyptic threat.

I feel for the stress he and everyone else trying to do the right thing is under. He knows his legacy depends on the success of this thing.

12. That is actually kind of sad. It tells me that perhaps he's not a sociopath. Maybe he does care.
I think we can all pretty much agree that even if we disagree on this topic it's because we're all as passionate that it work out for the best.

18. Paulson is not a bad guy he just works for an absolute ahole in Shrub
I feel bad for him with all the stress. This plus the begging on one knee Nancy Pelosi episode makes me think he knows the country is in the crapper and we need to do something. Very nice on Schumer's part as well. I guess we are just too nice, us liberals. I don't see the opposite happening very much where Rethugs are so nice to their colleagues on the other side.
