Santorum: Sarah Palin is the Clarence Thomas for feminists.
OMFG!!!!!

SANTORUM: Sarah Palin is the Clarence Thomas for feminists. The civil rights community, the African-American community obviously should have rallied behind Clarence Thomas an his achievement, but they hammered him because he was a conservative. And the civil rights establishment was first and foremost liberal and then for the liberal rights of — as liberals saw it, what blacks should have in this country. And the same thing with the feminist community.

-------------------------------------------------

Hey Rick, believe it or not us women aren't going to support someone just because they have ovaries just like African-Americans aren't going to rally around someone just because they have the same skin color. We liberals look beyond stuff like that like 'WHAT IS THEIR RECORD WHEN DEALING WITH PEOPLE WITH OVARIES AND/OR SAME SKIN COLOR' And asking that question says that both Palin AND Thomas fail MISERABLY when it comes to protecting and promoting the rights of Women and/or Minorities

9. That's true - the quote came out a few months ago
Had Santorum still been in office we would have picked up on it immediately. Now it takes 3 weeks for it to hit DU.

2. Actually, not a bad comparison. She represents women about as closely as Thomas represents blacks.

4. agree. Thomas has been a useless piece of crap...doesn't even
talk because he doesn't know what to say. Palin is horrible. Why do they want somebody with not one bit of knowledge running the country? Totally unbelievable!

8. Yeah you have a point there - they both really suck when it comes to the people who they resemble
If Women and African-Americans have to rely on Sarah Palin or Clarence Thomas to find the path to equality in this country then it's a sad sad sad world we've become.

I agree that he is in the closet. I'll never forget when he
was screaming on the floor of the Senate because a bill he
wanted wasn't passed. It was like something out of Nazi
Germany.

I wonder which airport bathroom stall is his?

10. Well. Yes. She is.
I.e. a totally unqualified tenth-rate idiot, who only got her position because of the attitude in some Republican quarters that all women and all minorities are interchangeable, and therefore one can replace a Thurgood Marshall with a Clarence Thomas or a Hillary Clinton with a Sarah Palin and no one will notice the difference! Can one say PATRONIZING!

Little Ricky is not an expert on any of the groups he just smeared.

20. These people think female= feminist
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 12:40 PM by nam78_two
It is not about having a vagina dumbass. Here is the definition for Sanitorium:

fem·i·nism
Function: noun
Date: 1895
1 : the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes
2 : organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests
— fem·i·nist \-nist\ noun or adjective

There are lots of men who are feminists and women who aren't. These people are idiots...

relevant once again. Spare us the Uncle Thomas' Cabin shtick, Rick.

Speaking of cabins, Senator Santorum, why don't Log Cabin Republicans support Barney Frank? After all, one single characteristic should completely define a person, right?

31. This is the problem with the Republican Party, they don't understand THOUGHT......
Every once and a while they'll come across a black men who agrees with their views. It's only natural for less than 10% of an entire race to agree with you on the issues. So it's only natural to claim racism when 90% of the people who disagree with that person call him an Uncle Tom.

I'm not even going to attempt to dissect the Palin fiasco.

Anyways, it's Rick Santorum. This is Rick Santorum's crazy life.
