What this country desperately needs is a good "community organizer" |
|
Because of where I live and work, I get more than my fair share of conservative viewpoints, one of which is the dismissive "community organizer" used to disrespect Barack Obama's candidacy. While watching last week's debate and following the bailout plan proceedings this weekend, it struck me how much we need a community organizer rather than a fighter pilot to address the many problems this country is facing. We desperately need someone who has the judgment and temperament to ease the concerns of ordinary citizens, who has the humility to listen to competing voices, and the charisma and leadership qualities necessary to pull people together; what we don't need is a proud, condescending, ex fighter pilot who believes without question that American might is always right, who refuses to accept a changing world, and who boldly claims that he makes decisions instinctively based on what he thinks is right and then doesn't look back. Seems to me it's the perfect time for the community organizer rather than the fighter pilot.

2. "Community organizer" is code for "Jesse Jackson" and "Black." Apparently, I am to fear these things |

Personally, I am right there with you. We need an organizer.
I volunteer for the campaign. This is, by far, the most organized ground game I have ever seen. Bar none. This is exactly what the country needs. Thank goddess for Obama's organizing abilities!!! :woohoo:
