THIS WAS A GAMECHANGER folks. Ok Now what,,,,,, |
|
So we tag the GOP for creating the problem in the first place and for opposing any means of fixing what they broke.

2. Well, I think it's more than a political game changer |
|
It may be a real life game changer. Look for lots of people to lose their jobs and be a lot more concerned about keeping their homes and putting bread on the table than they will be concerning about any politician. No "game" there, just real life.

I am very nervous. Don't know what to think. I love my way of life and I am afraid of what might come. This is no game.

15. Yep. Then the republicans will try to pin it on democratic leadership |
|
Like they did with Bill Clinton during the 90's. This is their 2012 strategy in action.

3. Nope, it would have been a gamechanger had it passed. |
|
We just dodged a bullet! If this bill had passed we would have handed McCain the Presidency and possibly lost control of congress as well.

I will now have to dedicate my life to becoming a freeper.
It won't be easy, but you have made your point so strongly that I suppose there is no alternative.
I feel like a Hugh Moran.

This is a political website. I am more sympathetic than alot of folks on DU. I was speaking purely in political terms.... which is what this website is about.

12. Real people are going to die if McCain gets elected! |

McCain will start wars and do more damage than this one day or one vote will ever do.
If you want to make the world a better place, forget wallstreet and look toward the Supreme Court and the next president of the United States. It's far more important that we win the "game" that is the election than that we bail Bush and his friends out of this mess on this specific day.
We are talking about 4-8 years more of Republican rule if the Democrats in the House screws Obama by supporting a bill that voters don't want.
Look at the big picture - we need to win the presidency above all else right now.

Twice in the last 3 weeks the Dow has closed down 400+ points.
After this bill failed to pass the Dow has settled back down to where its only down 440 points now.
In a true democracy when an unpopular bill fails to be passed it would get rewritten to address the reasons its unpopular so it CAN pass.
Thats what needs to happen here.

we can now get a better bill out of the deal. They broke it. They refuse to fix it. Maybe now the adults have to take over and do whats right. Maybe we will even have to wait a few months until we can get real leadership in place to do it.
If that is what happens, it will not be the end of all things. Each day that passes without the end makes me even more sure that this is not as bad as it is made out to be. And each time the pubs twist a little more makes me even more sure that we are doing the right thing.
