Chance the bill will pass tomorrow or the next day?
I'm hoping the obvious fallout from not passing the bailout bill today result in a quick revote and passage tomorrow or the next day. Does that seem likely?

Even if not for the sake of the country, I'd think more than a few members of Congress are personally getting hit hard by the drop in the market, and hopefully will react out of self-preservation, if nothing else, soon.

4. A quick revote is almost a guarantee. As for whether it'll pass on a revote...
I give it 50/50, tops. Probably worse odds.

16. One of the strengths of representative democracy...
...is that every once in a while the politicians are supposed to be the grown-ups -- a duty they've not taken very seriously lately -- and do smarter things than the temporary misguided passions of the public would have them do.

If they "go home" as you wish a lot more people may not have any homes to go home to at all.

10. The markets have passage this week priced in
this -600 stuff is just some complaining about a two-day delay.

The markets are still reflecting a near certainty of speedy passage.

12. I would bet no - no matter how hard they try to be bipartisan,
they just can't do it. Can you imagine when Obama is president? He has a way of bring people together, and they will probably get more done than they have in years. But now - I doubt it will pass very soon, or maybe not at all. Bush has the country so screwed up, hate and negativity everywhere. I am not suprised that this hasn't been passed yet.
