Why is McCain in Iowa?
He arrived at about 3PM local time for an economic round table Tuesday morning.

I don't think he has a house there.

The meeting is invitation only for about 200 employees and business owners and will be closed to the press. It will be help at EFCO Corp., a concrete forms and construction company in an industrial part of the city. The EFCO Corp. has offices and large projects across the nation as well as worldwide and its owners have been generous to Republicans from Katherine Harris to John Ashcroft to John McCain -generous, but not generous enough to warrant so much time spent in Des Moines today and Tuesday.

It's an odd move, and opaque.

4. Someone pinned a note to his jammies that said, "Take this geezer to Iowa."
A kind passer-by did the rest.

5. Iowa is considered a swing state that went for Bush in 2004
Obama is organized here and doing well b/c of all the groundwork during the primaries.

However after McCain's 'down with Ethanol' comments last Friday I doubt he's very popular here - even w/the IRP.

And yet again, this is another closed event RSVP only
