5. But if we are smart, we can "encourage" Bills enthusiasm and nail the corporate media.
The corporate conservative media machine that Bill helped to create, that is.

Don't hate me just because I want it all.

Your brain is getting to warped by what the media tells you to believe

:grr:

Put all that energy into what really counts - like getting Obama elected!

And personally I don't give a fuck what Bill Clinton thinks anymore. He WAS the president but I'm worried about who WILL BE our president. And yet everyday we have the clinton bashers who have nothing else better to do but this

13. Yeah. In one interview, his tepid pro-Obama ramble was cut. Brainwashing!
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 10:57 AM by Occam Bandage
I think we have more problems with his defense of McCain's suspension gimmick as "done in good faith," his declaration that McCain was "a great man"--and refusal to say the same of Obama when prompted--and his warning that Democrats should "not attack Palin." Him having a few positive generalities directed at Obama cut from an interview doesn't exactly affect the situation, except to provide a bit of rhetorical cover for those who feel a personal need to play defense for Bill.

14. You need to refocus you anger because you're not helping the party
What if we all just ignored what Bill Clinton was doing and got out there and focused on Obama.

PLUS another DUer posted Obama appearances where Bill Clinton is attending.

Just let it go - move on to what's really important which is Barack Obama.

7. HOLY BAT CRAP YOU DO KNOW THAT THE INTERVIEW WAS EDITED, DON'T YOU??!!`
http://mediamatters.org/items/200809290010?f=h_latest

The interview was edited REMOVING sections where Bill Clinton was praising Obama. And then Mitchell went on to discuss the interview implying that Clinton doesn't care.

GEEZ, when will you people get it that the media edits to show you what they want you to believe and NOT the truth

:grr:

12. K&R for what? Buying into the media distortion. I thought we were above that?
It's times like these I wish we had that new rating system so for those of us who READ about how the interview was editted to remove the sections where Clinton was praising Obama can rate this post as DISRUPTIVE!!!

15. Media distortion? "I could argue no one is ready to be president."
You are entitled to pick and choose what you feel absolves Clinton from what is felt as a consensus to be tepid support, at best. However, it is this kind of brow beating and insistence that others view the world through your eyes that is disruptive. Get that part straight.

Honestly, it's not finding Clinton absolution here, it's trying to get DUers to stop worrying about Bill and start worrying about the guy running for president.

And if Bill hates Obama so much then why are the 2 doing appearances togehter?

20. And when an abusive spouse brings flowers on occasion, does that absolve them?
Nobody has suggested Clinton hates Obama. Clinton's spotty support for Obama alongside his glowing accolades for his good friend, McSame, are a recipe for a widely held impression you apparently don't share. That's your prerogative, however, grace is acknowledging a difference of opinion without making it personal.

Bill is innocuous and the quicker we realize that and move on the more power we have to get Obama elected.

24. You're reaching, seriously
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 01:56 PM by LynneSin
You do know who Barack Obama is, right? He's the guy running for office, not someone hasn't been in the White House since 2000.

You seem to have alot energy here why not fight for getting Barack Obama. Clinton is Clinton and I both love the guy and get annoyed as hell at him too. But the media and republicans would love nothing more than try to keep that wedge in our party with the Clinton vs. Obama by doing shit like this and you and so many others are buying into this load of crap.

My mother once said that if someone is upsetting you then ignore them. When they realize you aren't phased by what they say or do anymore then they'll simply go away. To me, Bill Clinton is a non-factor in this election and the more we just ignore him the less the media will have a story for their nightly by-lines.

But in case you CAN'T get over it and need to express your feelings to Bill personally, then why not go to this Obama rally in Orlando that is headlined by Bill Clinton. I'm sure after Bill gives a speech to rally the Florida voters he can listen to you grip about these petty details.

26. You are welcome to your opinion.
The Clintons have revealed what they are about this election cycle. If you choose to turn a blind eye to their intermittent shitty behavior, that's your business. But an overview of this election cycle leaves a very different impression with others, even those of us who have supported them with blind allegiance until now.

What is so hard with just letting go? I mean hell, the guy is doing a tour WITH OBAMA in Florida. But you're obsessed with holding on to the past instead of embracing the future. And you're taking the word of what you see in the media, edited to alter opinions instead of search for the truth.

Shame

Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 04:23 PM by LynneSin
Bill Clinton is doing appearances with Barack Obama in Florida and they are being promoted on Obama's website.

I mean geez get over the damn primaries. We're here to get democrats elected not keep the party divided. Bill is campaigning with the guy, do you think he would show up if he didn't want Obama to win?

It's sad to see people still buying into the opinions that the media is trying to shove down our throats.

Primaries are over with.

Bill is doing campaign stops with Obama.

Media is trying to keep the division between Clinton Supporters and Obama Supporters.

Am I that unclear in my message. The Clinton hating is so non-productive. There is an enemy we need to fight and that's not Clinton it's the GOP which includes defeating McCain and Palin

Thanks for your support
