Great results with my Pro-Military, Pro-Obama buttons and bag today!!! |
|
I took my canvas Blue Star Families For Obama bag grocery shopping with me on post today with extra buttons pinned to it in the hope that someone would stop me and mention it and ask where I got it and the buttons, and then I could just give them one because I bought a ten pack for that exact reason. Well, it went better than I ever expected!!!! I gave away 5 buttons at the Commissary!!!! I'm going to have to order more, because I only have 2 extra left as I gave one to my neighbor the other day and one to a friend! Then, I went to bring my kids lunch at school, and one of the teachers had asked her class to choose who they would vote for as President, and they printed up their answers with the candidates face and their reason for voting for them! I don't know how old these kids were, but let me tell you, I was met by a SEA of smiling Senator Obama's with a very small smattering of John McCain mixed in. Reading the reasons that these kids would vote for him brought tears to my eyes and made my heart soar!!!! I just pray that their choice reflects what is going on at home and that their parents will be voting, because if so, Fort Campbell will go to Obama by about 6:1!!!!

I made sure to tell all of those people to donate, phone bank and canvas too!!!!
It was so cool, because what happened was one lady noticed the bag, asked me where I got it and then she started yelling to the cashiers that were close, "Obama buttons! Obama buttons!" And then we just got swarmed! It was great! :)

 That's great. I'm phone banking this evening at local Dem Hq. I'll tell the director we need to get the Obama buttons round town.

Every year some organizations goes to many schools before election day and they let the first graders vote.
My school was chosen in 1976, and I remember vividly marking the ballot for Jimmy Carter.
Can't remember who does this or for how long, but I do remember reading in the last election that the kids predict the outcome almost every single year, since the 60s or something.
I love hearing these first hand accounts.
Thank you so much for your service and sacrifice!

As for buttons, the best deal is buying in bulk. You can get 100 for only $50 that way. Looks like you might need it. :)

...and member of the Red Legs. It's both inspiring and encouraging to read your words, and to know that the military community is seeing through all of the smoke and mirrors.
